i always pump to the max also.. but everytime sidestand down, bike tilt a little, the petrol will leak.. no prob if the bike is upstraight position.. i guess its the rubber stopper spoil..

Any 1 knows how much to change the rubber or is there other solutions?

Mine used to open reserve at around 250km, but my bike a little siao siao one, if too long never go tuning, the fuel consumption can increase to as high as 210km without reserve.

so last time when my bike fuel consumption goes up i'll know it's time to send it for servicing, ie wash carbs plus tuning. but now become lazy, feel like it's no point spending something like $70-80 for servicing just to save a few dollars on petrol.

so my petrol consumption went up and linger around 230km without reserve for awhile, but since 2 weeks ago, something magic happened, I didn't do anything to the bike but my petrol comsumption went down to 272km without reserve! i was like quite shocked at first, thought that maybe too long never servicing, something wrong with the bike. But after i realise that power and smoothness are all still there, i know there's nothing wrong with my bike afterall.

Now I'm quite happy with my fuel consumption at 270km without reserve. At least can tahan one more day before needing to go into JB to pump petrol again. By the way, all my petrol is 100% JB one. And i ride very slowly as well, seldom go above 100km/h and my rpm also seldom exceed 6000rpm, so i don't really think how you ride makes all the difference, sometimes the bike itself is the difference.

I'm riding CBR400RRN, and i discover that us N models tend to drink up petrol a little faster than the R models. One more thing to keep in mind is how often do you pump your petrol. the longer the interval between each visit to the petrol kiosk, the lesser the distance you can cover with each full tank. This is simply due to evaporation. Our tank is not really air tight, and petrol still manage to evaporate out. so let's say you pump petrol once a week, your total distance covered will be lesser than a guy who pumps once a week because your petrol has 7 days to slowly evaporate while the guy who pumps once a week maximises the utility of his petrol solely in the combustion in the engine, in other words less petrol evaporates in one day so he has more petrol to burn and can cover a greater distance.

What bike are u riding? L model?

I suggest you bring your bike for a good servicing, wash the carbs and tuning, maybe even changing the spark plugs while you are at it.

even after all these still doesn't help and i believe you have mod ur bike too much until beyond help. Tong the pipe and all that will lead to a higher consumption of petrol.

Another reason must be u loot and loot.

When i go fast down the NS highway, travelling at an average of 180km/h to clearing metre, by 170km gotta on the reserve liao. during that time my full tank during a normal ride can last me to 250km without reserve.
