Yes obviously a used one, just have to be patient and keep looking. The shock cost like US$5 the rest was shipping fees to Singapore. Used shocks from older model 600s really have little value in the US market.

And yes valve clearance adjustment is an absolute must. Unless I have a receipt from the previous owner showing me when it was done last I will ALWAYS do this when I buy a new bike. Particularly an older bike like a CBR400 as they tend to be a big neglected for the big servicing items here.

If you do not have your valve clearances checked and adjusted you will probably get away with it for a while around town but you are likely to drop a valve and kill your engine when you start doing track days. It doesn't cost that much to have it done and it only needs to be done every 24k klms or so according to the service manual (more often if mostly track riding).

Take it to 1 Racing at Eunos if you want it done properly for a reasonable price.

I am always around just not on the forums so actively. Still have my CBR400 hurricane.

In a land far far away, there was a band of Riders who fought for traffic laws, protect d weak riders, helping d poor..they were the Firebladers..Fearsome n fast riders,,.Esp 2 riders , SebastW and KianL , knights of the West and East.. They wer close brothers n often fought 2gether against d Evil RVFians(ruffians) .
1 day, they met tis beautiful lady, Princess Nicolette. Her iron horse wer shot by conrod from evil RVFians who wanted to kidnap her..Luckily d 1 bros came n rescued her.
Alas, tragedy struck.As d evil RVFians always lose to them, they hatch a evil scheme..to divide n conquer d Firebladers. knowin dat both bros fell in love wif Nicolette, RVFians further add oil to fire.. They made a special pipe, called 2Bros n send word dat whoever duels n wins in d race, wil get both tis 2Bros pipe n also win d hands of lovely Princess Nicolette.

i just got myself a CBR400RRN fully stock except yoshi pipe.

what kinda servicing should i start with?

something like this?:

-wash tune carbs
-change EO
-change spark plugs
-wash and flush coolant
-change clutch cable
-change throttle cable

any recommended shops to do? i live north-west...

thinking of doing a single color paintwork as well... anyone knows aga how much?

probably at yeow's unless i heard of another reputable spray shop.
