Yoz bro, i need u to enlight me, you dont mind explain to me high maintainance for a gilera stand for? Sorry Newbie to runner, i am looking for a 2-storke runner and by the way anyone selling their runner here? For a 2002 gilera selling at 1.5K is it consider Ex?

Repairs Gilera bike. That's e second option if u go to e wrong

Workshop that loves to cut ppl head. For $1.5 is cheap enough

For a 2stroke. Mine was $2.5 few years back. Bring someone

Who is experience enough to know about 2stroke knowledge so

Bro..when is the meet up? are we doing it? F wat people say lah..letz just do it..we'll neva know till we start..maybe can give one month notice? so people can arrage their time and make free for the meet up? wat say u guys?

most common damage wiLL be the hoLe in ur waLLet.. LOL.

 

it wouLd be gd if u can ask them to open the transmission cover so u can check the condition of the parts in the transmission ie. roLLers.. beLt.. cLutch.. variator.. torque driver etc.

some cLaim to have mod parts inside but u never open up the transmission so u dont reaLLy know whether its changed or not.. untiL u open it.

engine wise its hard to detect tho.. but u can see the embLems from outside if say the bLock has been changed. not much to worry abt that.

waterpump might be an issue too. its near the right foot area to the right of the bLock. where the cooLant runs to cooL the engine. sometimes it'LL make noise cos the fan bearings r worn.. kinda pricey to change those. but usuaLLy with gd maintenance they're not much of a worry. so just check out for funny noises ard that area.

 

o i'm taLkin abt 4T btw. maybe the 2T ppL can give other advice. Like 2T pump n etc.

ask the guy bring u to a workshop , n do a simple transmission service(abt $25? i dunno now how much..) .. if he ok he got nothing to hide la.. but that of course u have to pay la.. can ask the mech to check for u also wateva that can be checked.. this is ofcourse if ur ok with everythin else( outlook, price, etc) n just wanna make sure inside is good...

 

but ofcourse make sure the mech u know.. if the guy know the mech they can both cheat u..

if u say viewing.

lift up the exhaust pipe upwards, if it drastically move, den it will be engine mounting worn off.

n if its the old inverted fork, its useless oredy.

n dont bother to buy FR plate. Fs oso kinda old oredy like mine. FT is the best.

these r the common 1st few tings to look out for.

n these r base on VIEWING.

 

engine wise, i will love to read from those expert 2strokers out there. im a newbie.

i am actually getting from a bike shop, name is Bike P*********. I know they sell cheap bike but as for good not i dunno. I doubts so if the mech there will let mi open up the tranmission box to check. haha anyway i also dunno hw to see whether anything b4 not. For 2002 runner is it still using inverted fork or? Lastly was i am still puzzled over 2T or 4T to buy. Can those old birds here advise? Maintenance wise and power wise which better? FC wise huge diff?:cheer:

haha.. i tink u ask here mostly will encourage buy 2T.. :D well, bike price itself can come up to half the price in difference..

Try to go for conventional forks.

Of cos, if i am a shop, i probably would swap a inverted crap fork and sell.

Tat is money to be made.

Actually, if u got it cheap, use the money save to do a overhaul. that way, ur bike can last u a good 3 years

For 2stroke bike, u should lookout for -

 

- Rear discbrake which is plate FS and above.

- Conventional fork coz it's serviceable.

- Start engine and close exhaust end to hear engine condition.

*Make sure no "crunchy" noise.

- Test ride and make sure it's alignment is perfect.

*Make sure body frame is in perfect condition.

- Check engine mounting by lifting up exhaust while on mainstand.

*If it drastictly can be lifted means it need to be change.

- Check carburator manifold "neck" ..change if u saw cracks.

- Check kickstart.. Make sure it's useable.

- Last but not least, check for any water leakage at left side mainstand area.

It's e other way round of your R1 fork. For manifold, u have to squat.. Definately you'll see carburator. It's the holder of your carb made in a rubberized material.
