It's disappointing that there's only so few of them here. As far as I know, only Chrysler, Dodge, Hummer, Chevrolet and Jeep make it to the roads here. I don't think we can count Ford right? Since its the European Ford that's on our roads. Nice to see more and more Chrysler on the road, though its unfortunate that most of them have turned to cabs, devaluing the brand.

Really, why don't the PIs bring in American Marques like Chevrolet Camaro, Ford Mustang, Cadillac(!!!!), GMC, Lincoln and the likes? Some are really really not bad you know, especially the Ford Mustang!

I don't believe RHD LHD is the issue here cause I know that its very easy to convert. So what is it that's stopping American cars for hitting our shores? The import price? Low demand? (Are you kidding, I'd buy a Mustang even if it costs the same as a 6 series if I had the money!!)

There are only a handful of LHD ... exotic cars which were imported by the owners themselves. The hassle going thru it Aint cheap.

So far the only country that comfortably house LHD and RHD cars in LHT(Left Hand Traffic) environment is Japan.

Here all must put sticker -_-........

(else fail can try ebay ^_^)

American emission standard is higher than ours. In fact, their Dept of Transport sets very high environmental and safety standards. The China made cars such as Cherry QQ will never be allowed in US.

American cars are usually big, heavy and huge cc to handle their terrains and distance. In Singapore, you get triple whammy for big cc. First is the COE, than it's the road tax, and last is the insurance.

The last car that created a huge rave in US was the Chrysler's PT Cruiser, and how many of these were sold here ? Probably less than 50 units.

Similar, a Mustang GT will sell less than 10 here, and still get smoke by a much cheaper WRX:angel:

I guess if a person brings in a Mustang he doesn't want to use it to race but more for novelty value?

But more heads will turn to the Mustang GT rather than to wrx due to its rareness.. And no chance to admire the wrx since it smoke the mutang liao.. Haha..

lol, bring in american cars, burnt a big hole in ur pocket yearly.

calculate road tax for car ranges $3950 (4000cc) ~ $10,206 (8000cc) engine.

all will fail euro4 emissions std, plus all drink fuel like running tap water.

if all americans drive 2~2.5 litre cars, they save half the world fuel consumptions.

Why don't you question on why american muscle is not being allowed to some other countries?

Yes having an exotic machine is definitely a head turner, it has the best performance, technology, outlook, everything, but what's the point? Can you outrun with those cameras around the island? Sometimes seeing those Lambo, Ferrari and some other exotic car on road, i feel kinda wasted. Not because of the driver, it's just that in this island.. There's never a chance for the driver to test it's full potential. What more getting a transport in this island is consider buying a 10year car. So personally i find it kinda pointless..

Be cool, Be smart... Be your Yourself!

Regardless the bike model/brand. No matter how good/fast the bike is. Without skills the bike is nothing.

Money is'nt everything, but without money, you're just nothing!

Legality aside, how many owner of such cars can drive their car to its full potential ?

Going by your logic, it's also pointless to ride R1, hayabusa....etc in Singapore.

Many a time, these exorbitantly priced exotic machines ( ie. cars, motorbikes. bicycles, boats..etc) are a status symbol.

Way before before Knight Rider, Pontiac Firebird was already popularized by James Garner in Rockford Flies.
