I was summon when i rode on footpath. However, there are a lot of bike parking illegally on the footpath. but he say, he must see the rider then can give summon. I though they can summon just by taking down the plate number? Then every friday ( during malay prayer), there will be a lot of bike parking illegally and riding illegally on the footpath, but no TP will come and catch them. :dozed:

Firstly, why are u complaining when u are already in the wrong by riding on the footpath?

The TP summon u for riding on the footpath or parking illegally?

Maybe the fine amount might be different.

u can argue that to park illegally on the footpath, most would need to ride illegally on the footpath before parking. (Don't think anyone would get off the bike and push it onto the footpath to park illegally unless the bike broke down.)

The issue now is probably he caught u in the act of riding on the footpath.

Not trying to side the TPs but I've seen a TP taking down the no. plate of bikes parked illegally when he was actually there to help to resolve an accident between 2 cars.

For situations like Friday prayers, the bikes and cars are given an allowance of one hour to park around the mosque during the prayer timing so as not to abuse the system.

You should convert to Islam then.

Cos the mosque specially request to not have TP come to summon whoever is at the mosque to do their prayers.

And TP obliged.

Then TP summon you, you say you are going to mosque to pray.

*roll the eyes.*

I totally agree that TP should summon everyone that was on the pavement. But since you did more serious by riding on pavement. Who are you to complain and sarbo the others on the pavement?

Its because that particular TP close one eye when people park at the pavement, but will issue summon if he sees someone who is riding ON the pavement. If not public will complain about him.

Think it is a very fair practice. You may want to park along with them during every friday muslim prayer to enjoy the "illegal parking". TP will not summon you one.

Or you can join S League soccer game "illegal parking". Think there are more free "illegal parking" events around.

alright, firstly i did not say the tp summon me wrongly. The point is, the tp told me that he can only issue summon when the rider and the bike is around. I thought they can summon when they got the plate number already ?

and still i dun get you. whats yr point again? are u offended that he stopped you or are you doubting their procedures? really. i dun get it.

Bro,

I understand where you are coming from...

You are wondering why you got saman-ed whilst the other bikes parked on the pavement did not, right?

Here's a few possible reasons.

#1 : Parking on the pavement is not a traffic offence, but riding on the pavement is. So naturally it's the TP's job to saman you when he sees you doing it. (basically you are caught red-handed)

#2 : Bikes parked on the pavement is not really the TP's business. There are other civil servants that are in charge of that violation. Thus the name TP ie Traffic Police.

#3 : Even if the TP wanted to make it his business, it would still not be a clearcut case to saman. What if the owner of the parked bike appeals that his bike was there coz it had broken down. Hard to prove otherwise, right? But for a rider riding on the pavement, a bit hard to talk your way out.

At the end of the day, take it as a lesson learnt and be more careful next time. Remember, you can do whatever you like. Just dun get caught. And if you do get caught, take it in your stride. Cheers...

Fact is TS is already in the wrong. No point worrying about others who parked at the pavement..TS wont be paying for the other bike summons..

Plus its caught red handed and no point arguing for sth which you know you've done wrong...and i'm very sure all of the riders know that riding on a pavement is wrong...

TS just take it as a lesson, hope no offence taken..:thumb:

well, u are wrong partly.

sometimes TP and cisco are there at the road entrance to the mosque.

but they are not there to saman, but to guide traffic or something.

it's ok to me. if the illegal parking all round the clock, then something got to be done, either make more parking places around or something.

but i say, some are not considerate, cos they park into bus bays and the buses cant get in, so the entire road is blocked briefly for a few minutes each time a bus goes there...

In a way or another, seems like you guys are questioning the govt credibility... I guess they have more traffic situations to attend to rather den giving parking tickets on pavement. Leave it to the sub-cons for that. They give fine, make noise. Never give fine, also wan to make noise. Wait till they really on the ball. Den we all r in the losing end...
