for me it was the idea of having the TP at 7am that ticked me off. =P and the waiting around.. think i was number 87. got to see alot of people getting immediate failures which gave me an uneasy feeling inside.

but it's all mental i guess. whether you can ride or not ultimately depends on yourself. so don't let the testers psych you out! and since you've already passed all the pracs you know you have the skills. =)

all the best tazzy_jnr! would love to see you on your ride someday.

thanks chung7x...pray for me.. ;)

obtaining the license is only the start of your riding experience....

going thru the number of times for the test does not equate to you being better off than the rest...just luck i would think....

Riding School just teach us the basics....Riding skills needs to be picked up and honed on the road...everyday road condition varies....so it will depend on each individual to adapt and make the right decision on the road....

making the wrong decision on the road may be fatal or cause serious injury....it does not matter how many yrs you have been riding or how many times you took your TP....one wrong decision or reckless act will be "IT"

Point to note: it matters not who is at fault....if bikers are involved in a accident, we are the ones who will be hit the hardest....

Have noticed that Motoworld is now selling an airbag jacket made by RS Taichi... looks like it might be a bit hot though... Am looking for a jacket that offers airbag protection without the bonus of being a free sauna. I saw one online that looks like a photographers/fishermans jacket (sleeveless).... Hmm...

Sharpey, RS taichi does offer the riding jacket with the airbag...

didnt check out on the review though....but i think it would be a mini sauna....in short HOT!!

sleeveless? not recommended...you need full protection...covering as much area as possible...

i am currently using a mesh-jacket from alphinestars...i find it reasonable as it offers protection and still allows airflow...so it is comfortable for singapore weather....

Where did you buy it? Is it good as a rain jacket? How much does it cost?

Cheers.

it is available at LAB/Reginna but i got it thru a SBF guy that does direct shipment...forgot the name but i can check it out if he is still doing it....got it like at least 100 bucks off the retail price (no bargain done yet price) LAB/Reginna is selling....i got it at S$250 if i remember correctly....i used it for touring when i am on my blackbird...

it can double up as a raincoat (though it is not as good) as it as got an internal detachable waterproof layer...

i think you can try to try riding jackets from alphinestars or dainese for good protection....though a little more pricey, i think they are worth it..i am also using dainese gloves...mesh type...comfort and suit singapore's weather...

check out the webbie for alpinestars and dainese...

my jacket is the simple all black jacket with shoulder & elbow CE protection...thinking of getting the back protector too....

think the name is AIR-FLO jacket...

one other thing...though this jacket cannot be compared to the full leather jackets, it is not too bad and offer enuff protection....practical for our weather too!!

Hey Ritz...Sorry to hear of your accident!

Thankfully you are fine.

Phew! Long lists of questions huh..Hehe!

To get straight to the point...Firstly, only you can decide on the looks of your "baby".

If your ride is a PX, make it look the part. Beautify and Upgrade it. That's my suggestion.

If you are really adamant about wanting the vintage look, then get the 'real' thing.

The truth is, there will be riders out there that will be passing comments that your 'baby' is actually a PX. It only looks like a super. Even your license plate will be a dead giveaway.

And no amount of money spent on your baby will make it an original vintage.

As for your shocks, Bitubo is definitely better then the 3 legged fork. No comparison.

There's also other 'branded' shocks in the market which you could consider like Sebac..etc etc.

You mentioned of your desire to change your scoot to disc brakes?

Do you really need to? It's very costly and if it's going to burn hole in your pocket..scrap the idea, bro.

Lastly, On paper...any bike thats more then 10years of age has NO value! So there's really no point in trying to get a second party insurance coverage.

Sad but that's how things are here. No paper value for my "baby" too.

On pricing of services, etc. at Ah Joo's? To be fair, the boys really don't get involved.

We simply run the club and not the shop. But my suggestion is to always to scout around and compare prices.

Hi Aziz thanks for the advise i would stick to pure PX :lovestruck: for sure maybe get an 'A' plate after i'm have enough of my PX FC plate but dont think it would be so sooon. As for the disc brake would be gettin it but not so soon would have to content with my Bitubo's for the time being .

Would be gettin my 'Kuda'(Horse in english) around March gettin funds for the Mods for my PX...Thanks again n ride safe :thumb:

Agreed with Aziz... except for the fact that the disc brake conversion will be too costly....

Figure it this way... you can spend 600 on bitubo shocks (to do so, you'll need to get a stock 2leg fork anyway)... you don't really need bitubo shocks.... Claussstudios will firm up your ride for under 150 including shipping.... A new sebac front and rear for about 80 each (stock for similar, but specify the discbrake front shock type... much smoother)

Or you can spend something like 700 (maybe more if you need to import) on a disc brake conversion kit... see other thread for the fruits of my searching.

I can't preach enough about the SUPERLATIVE braking capability of a disc brake Vespa in comparison to a drum brake model... there is no comparsion. There's no point being able to go fast if you can't bloody stop!

And by fast, I don't mean 120km/h... I mean 60km/h in traffic... a place where responsive braking makes your ride soooooo much safer. I can't list the number of times that my disc brake has saved my scooter (and pesky cars infront) from damage....

Save up.... it is worth it.

Helo Sharpey, totally agreed bout the disc brake but not enough funds for 'em will save for it for sure. Anyway i dont ride that fast 60 to 70km/h on expressways will be changing the front shocks first then maybe rear shock in the near future dont think will Bitubo's maybe Sebac or those new stiffer ones like pX millenium or something.

Thanks for the advise :thumb:
