hi sharpey ... hmmmm club member ... in Singapore theres a lot of scooter club ..

we have our pioneer Scooter Owners Group (SOG) .. think shud be the first official club in Singapore ..they have members in Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia ... their strength ?? few thousand members ..really, no joke. i've seen them full strength ... u can call Mr Ramle : 90595292 ( SOG ), next theres Vespaclub Singapore .. its a universal club that range from classic vespa till the latest automatic model ... heard their members manage to grab the limited edition of the GT model .. only 2 in Singapore ... u can contact Mr Alvin : 90684673 ( hes the only person using Scorpion exhaust for his GT, that makes the two of u, one geared and one auto then theres Stuburn Carbon SC ... think this club suits ur passion for speed,engine is their top priority,next theres AJ SC,its in this thread lah u can call Mr Aziz or Tazzy_jnr..they'll be involve in the annual CNY charity ride...doing this good deed every year.. good job Mr Ah Joo ..then theres Roda Dua Club...run by Mr Jas.. this club concentrate on touring,they have a lot of tour every year from nearest as JB and furthest to Thailand..then theres also Simply Scooter Singapore (in one of them lah),this club concentrate on classic vespa/lambretta and original accessories...u can call Mr Hamid : 94566076 ...

theres a lot more scooter club for me to list here ... too many

 

But these are all clubs .... what is important is ur passion and commitment to keep these scooters alive in Singapore .. i've seen the largest scooter club just go down just like that .. all due to other commitment,change in interest,change to bigger bikes,get a car.. the interest just fade and so is the club strength..

for me as long as in alive with or without a scooter, my heart still sounds like a vespa, runs with Champion spark plug and needs 10% of 2T

to all the commited members of the club that ur in, no matter what club, my salute to u all, thank you for keeping this "wasp" alive, as tazzy_jnr says "UNITE ALL SCOOTERHOLICS" ........ as one ......

i know of a fellow aj rider who is great at that subject.

even aziz has to sacrifice by putting the p plate on his scoot when i ride.

its not worth the trouble.having a p plte also gives you an advantage over most.

when you ride slow or make a simple mistake on the road, the other road users are more forgiving toward you.

it has happened to me on 2 occasions..hahaha

Right then.... I'd like to be a club hopper if possible... riding with a variety of groups... At the moment the official Vespa club doesn't have a lot of classic riders.... and us on the classic thread aren't really a club....

 

Hmm, maybe time for another club then??

well .. not being in any club kinda good also .... can join any group outings .... for me .. im from SOG ... then join in Simply Scooter ... any difference ?? naaaa .. we're still scooter freak ... i used to join AJ with their rides too .. difference ?? naaaa still the same ... scooter freaks too ... im with Vespaclub also ... any difference ?? naaaaa ....

so morale of the long story ... no matter what club ur in ....

we all share the same interest, same passion ....

so do wave ur hands when u see a fellow scooterist on the road, do shake hands, intro each other when meet up .... no need to show the proud face .... do smile at the ah pek and pakcik riding vespa,though sometimes their ride not as perfect restored as yours ... remember, their our roots they keep scooter alive in singapore ....

sorry im being a lil emotional but somehow im dissapointed when i see a fellow scooterist just pass another ..never even smile to each other ... our scene is too small here ...

we need to unite ...

so as a Simply Scooter rep here ... ur all free to join us .. not as a club members but rides and events if we ever have one ...

ahhh...vigano, just the person to ask about the good, bad and ugly side of vespa club, scooter and its owners.

but i think you are a wee bit modest about who is in-charge and running your scooter group.

everyone i speak to and even dear old ah joo says you(yusri) runs and pull the strings for simply scooters as well as everything else.

hamid is just a figure head.

is that true?

 

i guess, we on our part are just glad to have made friends with fellow scooterists.

 

and ya, i agree with you, that aziz would have looked good in the straits times vintage photoshoot.

too bad he wasn't, their loss i guess...hahaha!
