Not that I want to get "involved" here... but It'd be great if we had more people come down to the DIY session... Its not like its a "Club" thing... Just riders who would like to know more, or teach a little of what they know... A knowledge sharing session if you will....

 

I am a member of the Vespa Club of Singapore... well Just joined... I see that this precludes me from joining AJ rides, which is a shame... you all seemed like a good bunch of people. As yet there aren't many classic riders in VCS, so I feel lonely at gatherings (do sob for me)....

 

Oh well... perhaps its an even better reason to come down to Jurong on Sunday in a club free environment

 

To be frank, I wanted to come along on the CNY ride, but since I choose to serivce my scoot elswhere and have thus ended up in a different "club" I wasn't able... Sad... I was feeling pretty charitable.... Now now.. I promised not to get involved....

its good to credit others for their effort, just don take credits from others.

not to worry my friend...this does not involve you or any other.

we just wanted to get the facts right.

we have been taken advantage of on a few occasions.

like i mentioned earlier, so as 'others' would know the simple truth

 

fyi, i did invite rae, machine_k, cephelix, ejatt and yourself for the ride.

dont matter if you have your scoot serviced elsewhere...its the sincerity that matters most.

guess you were having a ball over the weekend till you forgot to check the forum....haha

as for the weekend clinic, aj scooters is having its very own ride to kota tinggi

we are in talks with another club in malaysia to hopefully have a friendly paint-ball competition.

if all goes well, it will be another great weekend for us.

Have fun in Kota Tinggi... I have fond memories of that place from my childhood... I sat in car while dad bought lots of cheap beer from Aunty shop who remembered us when we visited again after 10 years... Very cool...

 

I will summon the courage to ride out of Singapore one of these days... Hopefully I can come along with you all next time

aziz and aqis are planning to ride with 10 other aj scooter riders to thailand sometime in june.

it'll be like a scooter holiday...8day trip.

me and the other girls are going by bus and meeting the boys at their overnight stops.

sounds fun eh..hehe.

 

we will posts all our activities here when the final plan has been drawn up.

ooh some tension's in the air...sigh i've always hated such stuff and never like to take sides but just to set the record straight and hopefully clear the confusion somewhat, i myself am a patron of ah joo, roda dua and even tong aik at times. i have joined VCS way back as well, though i have yet to join the VCS members for their occasional gatherings.

 

i believe everyone in the aj scooters club would consider me as a member of aj scooters but no one has ever interfered with my decisions in patronising jass of roda dua and tong aik for accessories at times. even ah joo himself has always been a perfect gentleman and understood perfectly when i decided not to have my bike resprayed at his place despite having parked at his place for close to a month or so while "queueing" for the paint job.

 

i can personally vouch for the people at aj scooters on their warmth and kindness. from day one, aziz and yati and the guys at aj scooters have been amazing friends and have been most kind to me. never once have they made me feel that i HAVE to do things for them or that i can ONLY patron ah joo and no other mechanic.

 

there are others who would consider themselves members of aj scooters from other clubs such as VCS too, apart from myself. embracing multiple clubs and not pledging allegiance to any club in particular is seen as acceptable in aj scooters, that i am sure of. i can't say the same for the other clubs as i am not very familiar with them but i should think that most clubs will be fine with the idea.

 

ultimately, the issue at hand here and why members in here got all riled up because of a seemingly innocent and offhand comment is because many a time, members of other clubs decided to take credit for mass events organized by aj scooters in which they played no part in organizing. such mass events need loads of effort in organizing and require precious time and commitment on the part of multiple members within the club yet a couple of statements can totally shift all credit over to another club in which contributed zero effort towards the event.

we ride vespas....we're all supposed to be one big family...

we're supposed to be easy going....

but still able to ride safely.....
