best description or symptom would be, for that particular gear that is spoilt, there will be vibration coming from the gear shaft that would transmit to the gear shifter, that is what i call gear chui....

Go as far as you can see; when you get there, you'll be able to see farther.

same here. maintain at higher gear till speed hit 40 nd below thn start t gear down.

yea that's what i usually do slowly kick down as i slow down..but still happens now and then..does anybody know the reason for the gear jumping back to neutral..?

do not kick down gear when u still in high speed, or in fact when still moving... if possible jus brake an slow down, den kick down gear.. and best stop liao den kick..

as for TA150 its diff from ta200 slightly.. the gearbox is diff, when u mis-kick down gear nvr engage properly it will cost the gear to hit each other and causing the big "thuck" sound.. its very bad for the gear tooth for long term.. so best try not to mis-kick the gear.. i myself sometime also tio, whenever i tio my heart like kena "thuck" also =X so pain lo.. hahaha

ask ah chong... he will see how short can your cable go and get you the shortest one...

alternatively you can get it from ah boy... but it would be a dubious cable of dubious origins... :cheeky:

i have no such problems leh, and i always untilised engine braking. even more engine braking when road conditions are wet. ride for almost a year liao, no problem. to brake using front and rear without engine braking is suicidal... :dozed:

engine braking is perfectly alright, infact it is the most effective form of braking. of cos, no one tell you to drop 2 gears in one shot from high speed la... drop gears gradually. i've been using engine braking since i started riding.

you don just clutch in and brake till u come to a stop right? confirm brake fade one then you crash and adios...

my TA150 is functioning perfectly alright, way better after decarbonising my pipe and a DIY carb tuning. but now got this irritating cricket like sound from my engine area... it is not very noticeable, very soft but if you listen intensly, can hear it. went to Dr Chong, ah chong told me it's nothing. but the sound so irritating after some time. any ideas what could be the problem that is causing the cricket like sound?

rmb wat school tot u when u finish e-brake and wanna change to gear 1 when moving off???

yea that's what i usually do slowly kick down as i slow down..but still happens now and then..does anybody know the reason for the gear jumping back to neutral..?

it was not engaged properly, try shifting the gear without the clutch and see whether it jumps back to the previous gear, if it does, that means the gear shaft is gone gotta change a gear fork set, btw if u change gear without clutch, pls do not accelerate or decelerate, maintain constant speed then u change....

i guess its cause th gears are still spinning thn it kinda reject th one tht you'r trying t engage? =\

this happens when the gear fork has worn out as it cant hold the specific gear in place....

this is how sequential gears work

do not kick down gear when u still in high speed, or in fact when still moving... if possible jus brake an slow down, den kick down gear.. and best stop liao den kick..

my opinion is this, use whatever appropriate gears in different scenario, diff scenario requires diff types of gear selection....maybe the best illustration is this, try coming down from a slope and do e-brake with 6 gear, and another with gear 3....but of cuz 4 stroke has more engine braking power than a 2 stroker...

Go as far as you can see; when you get there, you'll be able to see farther.

hi guys, issit normal for your forks to be rusty?

it is only normal when the bike is not maintain regularly and properly..

the sad fact is that it is made worse if the material quality is not what it should be.

i have seen very bad Modeanas....:(

Never argue with an idiot. They'll bring you down to their level and beat you with experience every time:dot:
