ta 150 top speed much higher then 200?

my gf also thinks that bigger heavier = safer. .

she look at kup and ask me whther i agree that it looks like it can break anytime -.-

Bigger and heavier is definitely safer. Tires wider got more traction on the road and easier to balance at low speeds. At high speed the bike does not float up and your tyres have less contact on the road. Heavier bikes cut the wind easily. Kups will wobble when big lorry zoom past due to wind. If you ride a bike up ECP Benjamin Shears bridge you can experience strong wind blowing which is scary if you riding kup compared to phantom. Suspension work better on heavier bikes giving you smoother ride. My old FZX 750 cruise at 110kmh and it feels like only going at 80kmh because of the weight. brakes are also made better with more stopping power. Very few small bikes have rear disc brakes. The weight of the Phantom is almost up to the weight of my previous GSXR 400. It will be easy to handle the bikes when you go for class 2a upgrading. Also forget about top speed. Low end torque is more useful for quick and safe overtaking in city riding. Your bike will not feel stable at speeds over 120. You will need bigger bikes for that. Also you might be booked for speeding or even lose your life. Remember, safety is first priority.

wow. okay nice . but will the age of the bike affect safety?

like for e.g a 10 year old phantom and a brand new kup . .

later 10 year old suddenly break down in the middle of expressway? or both have equal chance

breaking down?

oh yea 3.2k inclusive of 10 years coe =) . Phantom gives your gf's parents a very safe feeling. haha bike breakdown or not see luck one leh. but i have no regrets getting a ta 150.. POWER ROX. although need keep visiting petrol station every 4 days. haha but my wheel bearing spoil twice le. thats the only thing i've changed so far. HAHA . gd thing about phantom is riding on expreessway can much faster den kup. although they pick up faster but once hit expressway they dragging at 70km/h le. Lols u can easily ride 90 without feeling much of the engine drag. haha. Normally honda bikes should be quite reliable one. can last very long

Mmh, Ive alil time to spare now.

Shall share with you abit, totally IMHO.

First off,

Bigger / Heavier bike = safer = totally not true.

scenario:

In tight traffic, i take a spark, you take a phantom.

one car swerve out, my spark is so tiny & light that i can swerve away. chances are 50% safe 50% hit by another vehicle.

one car swerve out, your phantom is heavy & bigger in physical size, you'd have a harder time swerving & your chance of hitting by another vehicle is high cause you're bigger.

In this case, spark wins.

scenario:

by passing a heavy vehicle, the air pressure would push you aside.

I ride a spark, i get pushed 1/2 lane away, cause im light, i get hit by a vehicle on e OTHER lane.

You ride a phantom, you get pushed 1/4 lane away cause you're heavier, you're safe in your lane.

In this case, Phantom wins.

IMHO, its totally dependent on the rider's riding habit & nature.

Comparing FC & top end speed.

Ta150 is a 2stroker,

Ta200 is a 4stroker.

a 2 stroker is usually or rather, generally more powerful then a 4stroker despite the smaller engine cap.

top end speed wise, ta150 wins. (ps/ ta150 is using the exact same engine as a honda nsr sp150)

FC, a 4stroker is definitely more fuel saving then a 2stroker.

this case, ta200 wins.

picking your right phantom.

what duyou want your phantom to do for you?

looking good with a cruising speed?

look huge with a racer speed?

good sounding soft pipe?

loud high pitch sp-like-pipe?

generally, ta150 is bigger is width due to the radiator/aircon infront.

make it fat to get a muscle bike look.

& the sound is, just-not-my-kind. high pitch, id rather get a sp or tzm if i want that sound.

BUT, ta150 has got good speed. no doubt.

ta200, you can chop it up & turn it into a bobber.

or you can do what most PKs had done, installing beach bars, saddle bags, side box etc.

to make your ride look really huge & heavy, built to cruise.

breakout, falling ill etc.

these depend on how you take care of your lovely bike.

how much you pamper it, shower it with care & wack it too.

wack it too hard & a overhaul would slap you in the face.

take good care of it & you can ride for years with no major faults.

19yrs old phantom, why not? scrapping nxt year. running perfectly fine too. let alone a 11yrs, 14yrs old.

lastly, sharing 2 babes.

Every four days spend how much? 4 days once like quite little ? ta200 how many days once?

yeah you have a nice bike but hor no box? you can survive?

1 litre petrol can ride about 35 km ($2) on a TA200. Normal full tank is almost 9 litres ($17-18). Just imagine ride from changi airport to jurong west is about 30+km. Should be able to go up and down 9 times before you have to visit petrol station.

You can install box but can take out leaving the rack. Still look alright.

@devil l What if most of the time i am on small roads not on expressways? Since my house to nyp is one straight road and my house

to my girlfriend house is nyp braddel toapayoh . What if on kups i move far far away when i see a big truck behind me coming?

I definitely favour fuel consumption over speed. Also when i buy a second hand bike how do i know if the previous owner

didnt whackk it? lastly your biek is phantom? -.- it looks sexy haha

does a kup wobble @ 90km/h?

Kup will not wobble at 90kmh unless the forks got problem. The engine will be screaming and your handlebars will vibrate. you will also feel the bumps easily when you go over rough road and your handle bars will be very sensitive forcing you to concentrate more. You will be more tired after a 15km ride.

sigh everything seems to point towards the phantom for reliability. -.- but i am afraid the age of the bike , and the previous

riders actions . like whether he stressed the bike or not

Posted

nope, not a cm125 tank. (:

my points were put out in a pretty general manner, the rest are up to you to consider and decide. (:

regarding the previous owner issue. grab th bike, wack it, set a personal best, overhaul it, its new, take care of it. nyeaheh.

jyea, its a phantom, thanks man. (:

What if it's issues not concerning the engine?

Phone once sent for repair not as good already.

Overhaul means safe?

If once buy overhaul means more money spent.

I budgetted 1.5k for 2 3 years Coe bike. After

Buying bike still got money overhaul meh. And if

Overhauled still need set aside money I pok la ._. student here leh

anyone here VERY gentle with bike and looking to sell sometime in september/october?

Just be patient and wait for correct opportunity. A well kept shiny bike will most likely have a good condition engine/parts too. When checking a used bike, make sure very little rust even on exhaust header if possible, check engine & carb not leaking, clean well oiled chain, headlight and electrical and signal switches all working smoothly. Mirrors also shiny and clean, brakes work properly. If you can get all these in a used bike, most likely the owner never whack the bike hard. My phantom is 8 yr old bike when I bought it and only 4200 km travelled. I think you can get a good deal if you look around slowly.
