I think they saw the wrong vega player... There is a expert vega player...the community calls him Uncle vega...he always wearing jogging attire....

 

Maybe he bluff his wife say go jogging but go to arcade instead...

Street fighter brings back a lot of memories. Started playing SF2 on Super Famicon on those rental machines. Played until my grades went from a PSLE grade which is sufficient to go RI to "a sea of red" in my Sec 3. (Of course its not just Street Fighter, RPG games have their fair share of contribution as well....) Was so thrilled by the adrenaline rush when you can beat people in the neighbourhood that I will drop my bag and rush to the neighbourhood shop to play and tcss with my friends. Till now, whenever I made reference to them to my other circle of friends, I still call them my "猪朋狗友". Apparently they are not so pleased when I told them that. lol.

 

Played at a time when dragon punch is invincible, caused a LOT of damage when E-honda and Blanka is rolling over and if you execute it last min, and combos were limited to 3 or 4 hits (i.e. easier). Pretty much the unofficial champion in the neighbourhood shop I played in. I was so confident of Ryu & Ken but when I was paired up against an arcade expert whom uses close range sonic booms and backfists to counter the longer reaction time of the hadoken, I got beaten. Made me realise the world is much bigger out there...:angel:

 

Lost touch with fighting games for the next few years and I could not really keep up with the faster fingers of the younger generation. Now mostly play RPGs if I do play games.

 

I hoped what I mentioned bring back some memories for the uncles in this forum.... for it certainly was a period of fun (and of course bad results for me)

yeah.. alot of memories... my 1st play was street fighter. the moves is very slow, even when jumping, it takes abt 2sec to land...lol... but i like now sf4 very much... but seems like not many ppl here is into it....

my first play was the first version of street fighter in the camp canteen 1989. The movement was very very jerky.

 

Then during uni days, played the SF2 everyday until midnight coz i bought the nintendo set too. Was already using Vega...

 

So now you guys know my Vega still sucks despite of the many no. of years..

ya, remember still got bonus stage which u can smash the bricks. so i always use e honda blanka or chunli at the bonus stage. chun li leg e honda hand n blanka electric is the most powerful n fastest timing to clear that stage...hahaha:cheeky:

the guys in bugis really getting very good. All of them eat and sleep SF4.

That's really sad for fans of SFIV who don't own ps3 and don't often go to the arcade if that's really the case. But I think most likely they will port it over to the other consoles or pc soon after.

Yea, afterall SF4 is long awaited by fans of the genre. And besides, it really quite shines as a game.

 

As for myself, I got my SFIV since last year but didn't play much of it. Even got myself a hrap3 and modified it. But I realised I'm really not much of a fighting game person so I stopped playing and recently just sold off the hrap3.

 

But a few days ago I saw some trailers for the SSFIV. Seems pretty nice man.
