hi... anyone knows the procedure to scrap a bike.

what do we need to scrap??? chassis or engine? frame? the whole bike?

if engine only... which part of the engine?

why i ask... bacause it seems that i can make extra cash if i were to sell parts of my bike that doesnt need to be scrap...

from handlebars to mirrors to fairings... all can be sold for cash.

if u'll send to shop they sure take what they want & "scrap" for u & yet u still have to pay them, just like my fren who just scrap his scoot had to pay shop $80.

But that really depends on which scrap yard is willing to take in only the frame and crankcase. I had a hard time finding a scrap yard to scrap the above. 4 out of 5 refused to take it in.

mine is an antique... kawasaki...

but it seems that this antique is sought after in the US & UK... so there's money to be made.

how come? i thot a frame & crankcase has more metal compare to the rest of other parts... that is what they are after.... right?

why would a scrapyard want ur seat/mirror/fairings?

try scraping at bike shop. u pay a certain amount like 80 bucks or something they will help u scrape and you can take back the parts. even the frame. bikeshop usually does it under export which do not require u to give the frame. try first motor if u interested. they do provide such a service.

A friend of mine scrap her bike recently, we wanted to salvage certain parts but the scrapyard wanted the bike in road worth condition. I see one motoring does not have such requirements. Anyone knows the legality or rules and procedures for this- salvaging parts from your bike before scraping?

which scrapyard is this?is it the authorized one which you can check the list from one motoring...

u can send in the bike with just the frame and the lower part of the engine containing your engine chassis numbers......perhaps the scrapyard you went is not the authorized one...

you can dismantle the bike at ur cp...den get a tow truck like mike recovery to tow it to the nearest authorized scrapyard for jus a bit above towing fee...den also ready ur pin which u need to get from lta earlier a few days which they will post to u....cheers

I ride at 70km/hr only...please please dont blow2 at me or overtake me dangerously....wait i change into Incredible Hulk n dont know why my little baby bike will always be ahead of u if u do that
