I only know HKL brings in GPR and IZ-2 racing suits- that's where I bought mine from. Whether they're SG's main distributors, i'm not sure.

hey ppls i got qus, i planning to get a race suit but 1st i wan to know any different between a 1pcs (full suit) or 2 pcs ( top + bottom) ???

2nd: what is the different between all the brand like, clover, Dainese, RS Taichi, Alpinestars & etc ( different in the way of matarial & quility)

3rd: is there a different if i go overseas like hongkong or china or aussie to get their local brand suit which is not the above brand. ( Seller claim that material is abt the same and is full leather)

4th: how to define whether the leather is good for tracking ???

There is someone out there for me

I know there is someone out there

I know she is waiting so patiently yeah

Can you tell me her name?

Now I remember who you are. :cheeky: We met at SSDC and talked about 2A bikes back then. Anyway let me try to answer your questions.

1. 1-piece suits are safer. 2-piece suits offer the convenience of splitting the top and bottom, but the zipper connection tends to be the weakest link of the suit. In the event of a fall, if the zipper rips open, your waist will be unprotected. Since you won't wear the top as a leather jacket in this hot weather, you might as well get a 1-piece suit. Finally, many 2-piece suits don't come with the hump, which protects your neck from whiplash.

2. All the brands you have mentioned are reputable. You should not have to worry about the build quality of these suits. Suits are all made of leather so that's a no-brainer. Other must-have features IMHO are CE-approved armor and hump. Also budget for a dedicated, separate back protector. Going up the price scale, you get external plastic armor, then external titanium armor.

3. If you are confident that the maker of the suit will produce good quality suits, go for it. Otherwise, stick with tried-and-tested brands.

4. Leather race suits are made for the racetrack. Thicker is not necessarily better, either. The leather can come from different parts of the cow. Buy one that is comfortable and within your budget.

A final reminder... Suits are supposed to be tight. Really tight. Leather stretches to fit you and protect you.

erm..

i got into an accident recently and smashed my shoulder..

5 metal is inserted into my right shoulder area..

2 is to support my shoulder..

just this quick question..

to what extend will the armoured area at the shoulder of a suit can protect my already broken shoulder in case of a fall..??

When you have walked my path of pain and suffering

you will understand my need for revenge and to inflict pain on those who have betrayed me

As a scorpion bides its time to strike so shall I wait for that moment to obtain my vengeance

And my mocking laughter shall be the last thing they hear. In The End, We Remember Not The Words Of Our Enemies, But The Silence Of Friendships

Bro, you should take awhile off track to rest yourself.....unless you are able to get a customised suit, I believed no suit on the market are made in the mind to protect a broken bone or what. Hope you rest well and recover fast!

anyway guys,

do u knw any two piece suit tat comes with hump?

Dainese, RS Taichi, Gmax are a few I have seen.

In my opinion, suits protects us only from abrasions. Impacts are quite minimal depending on the speed that you are going at. I really doubt the ti armor can protect you when you crash at high speed heading into an object.

It is better to keep quiet and remain a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubts...

The Ti armor takes some of the impact and the CE armor underneath the leather takes some. Another function of the Ti (or external thermoplastic) armor is to protect the stitches of the suit to prevent them from ripping apart.

But I agree that in a high speed crash with blunt impact, the best armor will not save the rider from skeletal injuries. Even MotoGP racers with the maximum protection also suffer from serious injuries.

Please do not ride until the doctor tells you that it is safe to do so. After that, if you intend to ride on the track, you should definitely get a special shoulder armor (possibly with memory foam or helmet-like construction) made for you to protect your weakened bones. I have no idea who makes one in Singapore, though. The external armor of a suit will absorb some of the shock but not all.

Anyways, seen the thread on the suit you intend to purchase, it's a pretty good entry level suit, and most importantly, it should fit you well...cuz like Amba mention, which I also agree, falling in tracks is common, so at least if your suit is not too expensive, you will not be so heart pain. Moreover, most of the fall we had at first in tracks are quite cuckoo mistakes, unlikely those high speed lowside, or highside or what.

I've seen Amba fall on highspeed turns and the X Strom was protecting him (not 1st fall also on that suit). Once you get better, time to find James for a better suit :thumb: Me will get a suit from him probably end of the yr. Time to thrash my present suit, lol....

I also started on X Strom, which I regret selling....it was my most fitting suit, except for the lower limps which need a little of alterations which I realised only when I sold it off. That suit is sure good for thrashing cuz not expensive.

Welcome to track!
