they are shortage of ERS personnel and Senior Officers...

Is there a shortage all the while or only recently??

BTW bro, i read from your previous posts that u r a SCDF officer during NS rite? So from your experience, do u have any comments on choosing SCDF officer as a career?

have u gone through the interviews?

they will only call u to come down for the interview...no letters...no emails...

 

if not...u call them and ask them regarding the application...

hello to all mr and msr fire fighter.. i should say that i enjoyed my ns life as a fire fighter at paya lebar fire station.. i loves going for call etc2 but sad 2 say that the system kinda changed alot that makes alot of ppl want 2 quit their career.. seriously.. i asked arn and most of the regulars dun really like the strict system... i thot of sign on and go 2 ers but i made up my mind and no is the ans... althought im no more 2 fire fighter, inside my heart, i am 1.. hehe... anyway buttbutt8, sir, i salute u.. hehe... welcome 2 scdf.. its a very glamourous and challenging career ... hope u are 1 of the best RC OR OC... peace out

If you are married/attached, and your partner is not likely to be very patient and tolerant when you are away very often due to work, think more than twice about joining as a senior officer.

 

Tour of duty as an RC has the potential to be very damaging to family and relationships. Long hrs of work and having to be at work almost every day of the week can be quite a strain on relationships.

yup. and I'm not the only one who holds the opinion i described in my earlier post. the job is definitely a challenge which you'll enjoy. but the disadvantage is the impact it'll have on your family & social life.

PSA... can try. They also have ship FF service.

 

I heard from friend, clean oil spillage = drive pumper over oil and open tank valve... =.= :sweat:

 

Consider FSM before?

Life as NSF firefighter quite easy lor.How i know?Cos i'm an ERS regular for 5 years now.For Regulars,be prepared to have ur off days burnt.Never belief that u ONLY work 10 days.First 2 years,i found it quite tough,having to come back on off days.("peak period" can be up to 5 to 8 off days in the month).But now nearing 5 years,i grew accustomed to it.But also depends on yr secondary appts in the fire station.higher appts,more off days burnt and higher responsibilities.But when Performance Bonus are given out,u get wat u deserve.Maybe that's why i seldom complain. :lol:

 

wah work 10 days only..even if ur off days are burnt like u say ard 5 to 8 days..does that mean u still haf half the month on off? haha..dats still a plus point to me..im still considering whether to sign on in the home team as the officer in blue or as a firefighter..

actually if u calculate the amount of responsibilities involve and hours work and commitment...

it's better to be a JO than an SO at the start of ur career
