as for botak Jones western food... its @ blk 608..closed before 10pm.. (last serve is ard 9.45pm)

 

try b4, to me, the serving is large lo... wif many different sauces....

 

 

think will go there and eat again... hehehe

small EAT!! outing at Hog's Breath Cafe

 

attendance: chiaki, edecline, dainese17, palmer, gohjohan & friend

 

 

Appetizers:

 

Nachos - topped with melted cheese and served with generous amounts of salsa, sour cream, guacamole and mashed beans.

 

Calamari - lightly battered crust, chewy and delectable. but nothing about it.

 

 

Main Course: STEAK STEAK STEAK!!! 400gms (size of my hand and twice as thick~!~!)

 

to gohjohan who finished his steak first, followed closely by palmer, dainese, gohjohan's friend, edecline and lastly myself.

 

the prime rib is so tender that u can juz cut it gently with the blade, and test bites did not reveal any stringy tough threads of sinew. the fat is juz nice, not greasy but palatable and smooth. steak is done medium rare and the juices are juz glistening and bursting with the flavour of good meat.

 

dun ask me bout the veggie sides~ the boys ate their veggies, i juz picked at them for fun....

 

 

Desserts done at Bakerzin @ City Hall. coz those in the menu didn't really intrigue us much....

 

 

Take note that when parking at CHIJMES, u'll have to stop at the security booth (near the gates) and pay for ur parking ($1) first. the cashcard reader down the slope at the carpark entrance is for CARS ONLY!!! alternatively, u can park at city hall and cross the road over to CHIJMES.

Scooter section just have our Newbies meetup there recently at Little bali, address is: little bali Seafood, 9 Lock Road.(along depot road)

With amber parking space for cars and bikes, food price are reasonable (almost on par with food court).

Just to share some info if u guys are thinking of having group outing makan session.

Review of some restuarants and eating outlets in Vivo City.

 

SUperdog - I have tried superdog. One I thing i have to comment is that their chili dog is good. Other things wise like pricing, waiting time and their superburger sucks big time. I had to wait for my chili dog (takeaway) for like 35min and you call that fast food? I believe there are other who was waiting much longer than me lor. I will never go to superdog for a nice overprice hotdog. 7/10 for the food, 4.5/10 for service, 3/10 for pricing

 

Hanabi - Well, went alone to check out the food and order a special lunch set. The ambience is good and service is all right. Waiting time is long thou. The counter chef saw staring at me or me staring at the 2 counter chefs for like 20+min without food. I really had nothing to do except to stare at them, seeing them making the sashimi or maki. Suddenly, the fatter chef actually offer me some of this funny, vinegar sauteed cooked salmon for free. It really appetitizing and making me more hungry. Shortly after the free treat, the main dish is served. 8/10 for the food, 6/10 for service, 8/10 for pricing. I paid like $35+ for a nice lunch with the view of sentosa.

 

Food republic - Haiz, very sad and disappointing. The crowd was huge and no place to sit. Nevermind that, every single store of food court was way way Overprice (IMHO). I bought my fishball noodle (like yong tau hoo type) at $7+, Claypot laksa at $6.90, my friend was even SHOCK! $10+ for a nasi lemak (plus chicken and fish cake). The noodle was ok. Laksa tastes the same like the old depot road laksa, I heard that a franchise bought the original laksa recipe from the depot rd original store and started selling at Vivo city, well, it tasted 95% nice like the old one. Nasi Lemak! $10+ nasi lemak! Sama! same old nasi lemak and way overprice.

 

Asian Cusine - Good! Pricing is about the same as Crystal Jade La Mian but abit cheaper. The La mian were good and Xiao Long Bao was great too! Service is ok as the food came pretty fast. Soup is a bit on the salty side where else the noodle is ok but I prefer spicy food. I rather spend my dollar at this La Mian restuarant than on superdog or food republic. Definitely worth the dinner. $27+ for 2 pax dinner. But i have to say that the food there is pretty normal compare to other La Mian restuarant. 8/10 for food, 7.5/10 for service, 9/10 for pricing.
