Hi all kakis,

I have a friend wanted to migrate and wanna to sell this this old 750cc Honda Shadow in the attached pics. We are in Vietnam.

Can anyone tell me what model, year this bike is made? Is this aero or ace? It is America Classic Edition. It is indeed very heavy. Could it be due to the big front wheel?

How much it worth now?

Is there any carved serial/manufacture date on the engine?

Btw, is this a good bike that worth buying? Any other alternative selection in the market I should go in comparison to this bike?

What are the things you guys would suggest me to change or do maintainance after buying?

Thanks

I rode this Shadow ACE 750 about 11 years ago. This model is basically the same as it smaller shadow 400 except with a bigger engine.

I think finding spares for this model is not hard since there are many shadow 400 still running around locally.

Thanks for all comments.

I've test ride the bike today and the gear changing is good but need to turn the accelerator hard to increase speed. Is it normal. It is very very heavy. Need to get use to it on handling. The shocks are good too?

What else do I need to look out for?

I had updated the pictures. How much does this 10 years old bike worth now?

Chain driven for the 750 will have a bit more power than the 400. The problem most found with the 750 shaft was the low end's power was compromised.

If you're springing for the bike, bring it to a mech that knows how to deal with cruisers, like Rosli, and let him give it a once over. After the initial pocket blow, your bike will run smooth for another 10 years.

There could be a lot of factors due to the slow acceleration you are experiencing while test riding the bike such as a few examples listed:

- a clogged fuel system

- a worn out clutch plates

- a worn out / mismatch sprockets

- a clogged catalytic converter

As for the front and rear suspension, it is advisable to check with a mechanic. My understanding for the front suspension is, if the fork is slow or doesn't decompress after pressing down, it is advise to change the fork oil.

Just as what plasticblackspecs have said, it will be good to bring the bike to a reputable mechanic for a full check-up.

As for the price value, the year it was running on the road and the overall condition of the bike is a contributing factors that most of us is unable to comment without these information.

All I can help you with is a brand new Shadow Aero 750 is estimated to cost around $17,000.

Four wheels move the body. Two wheels move the soul.
