Calling all the owners of the above bikes.. what do u think about ur bike? your own experiences and feedback? rather than some magazine's impression... lets get our local riders to feedback about this bikes yeah?

gsxr1000 dynoed locally at 142.3bhp, superb suspension from the crate... does a top of 299kmh indicated somewhat at 11800rpm?.. but wif alittle magic.. can go much faster... rpm topping out at about 12300rpm..

powerful track tool... and cool to pull wheelies... certainly a wheelie bike... comes up like nothing in 2nd... first gear is for heroes... and even lifts on third at about 160kmh... :bounce:

wanna know more about the r1s out there and 954s... wondered if anyone would care to enlighten me?

A USED GSXR1000K1 will be the best bike! Its the only money-for-value bike one can get.....with the perf(in stock trim) closest to a WSB machine! :bounce: :bounce:

Of course 1 may argue that pricing may not be cheapest but to match that kind of perf and hnadling of the GIxxer, you will need to spend lots of $....so u might as well get 1? I think that makes sense.

Nothing else comes close to the GIXXER....mayb just not yet!

none of the bikes are suitable for singapore or malaysia riding. They are for track purposes.

Actually any of the bike also can go ride on Malaysia/Singapore roads.

These bikes are all so capable that you probably be unable to reach anywhere near the limits of these one-litre super bikes.

You can pick any one of them and go thrash it out in malaysia/singapore. Chances, you are only using at the very most, perhaps 40-50% of their full potential.

With this view in mind, the max power of the sport bikes become irrelevant because you wouldn't be able to use them in public roads in SG/MY. Other factors then come in to differentiate them. Such as comfort and the power of the brakes.

The FireBlade is the most comfortable bike amongst them by far. You can ride on the FireBlade the longest, the furthest with the most comfort. This is especially important if you use the bike everyday for commuting to school/work, as well as go touring hundreds of kilometers in Malaysia. In terms of comfort, after the 954 comes the ZX9, the GSX, then the R1.

The FireBlade 954 even has a hugh underseat storage in the pillion seat--it's even bigger than that of a Super4! As you can store a complete set of raincoat in it, you can go communting or touring in SG/MY without having to worry about rain.

Because all these bikes are so darn powerful and can build up enormous quantum of speed in the blink of an eye, the brakes become paramount. So much so, that in my opinion, the quickest bike is the one with the most effective brakes. While the GSX is the only one here to have radial brakes, the FireBlade's 954 brakes are the most powerful and most effective amongst them all. I would rate the next best brakes to go to the R1, then the ZX9, then GSX.

haha ya you're rite about the compartment space.. i manage to squeze in a complete set of rain cloth(a must for me), my standard tool kit, tire patch kit, bike cover, a few clothes for wiping my bike and parking coupons.. this is why i love my bike.. but if u look at 929's compartemet, u'll be more amaze..

as for brake, yupe it's powerful and good enough.. one thing i find it funny is that its actually same as superfour brake caliper.. maybe because of the larger brake disc (330mm), thats why its more powerful than the S4.. the funny thing is that i always went to the shop and ask for S4 brake pad to make it simple for the mech..

This thread is really old sia!

Anyway I would vote for the 954 and then the ZX9. I would rate R1 as the most track-oriented bike, although the Suzuki slogan is "own the racetrack".

henRRy, long time no see! The VFR should be very good for daily riding. I don't hear the folks from the VFR group complain about their bikes! Anyway, have you bought the bike yet? And how did you end up in the VFR group? Still riding CBR400 or upgraded?

Hi.

The 954 is definitely my pick. As others said before, all these liter bikes make enormous power, and unless you're racing on a track, you'll probably only use 50% of their potential.

To me, what is important in such a bike is the way the power is delivered ,and how you can use it. The 954 is great in that respect. Smooth and progressive power delivery (not weak by any means!), great brakes and suspensions... It all gives you confidence. That bike never surprised me in a bad way, and i was always able to recover safely from any occasional slide. The handling is great, probably helped by the very light weight. Very user friendly for such a powerful bike.

Plus, if you use your bike everyday, like i do, you'll come to really appreciate the 954's comfort, as compared to other liter bikes of that year. You won't feel too cramped on it, and can go touring for hundreds of km. And it has the biggest underseat space of the bunch (really useful for rain coats, tools, even ugly ERP system...)

The 954 is just a great bike. Good job honda!

Now, i'm waiting for my 2008 model delivery...
