Hi lads. Just bought me a PGM IV for track use only.

I am starting the process of lightening. What advise would you have?

If you're talking about turning it into a race machine, talk to HRCSGP.

He's the owner of the MC21 I rode last TD 5 LFC and he tunes it as well.

Oh and 1 more thing... be prepared to spend on HRC stuff! like we discussed during last TD, to make the bike raceworthy u'd need all the HRC stuff u can get.

USD forks=designed for more stability during cornering as telescopic forks is more easily prone to jerking. However downside is that USD more heavier than telescopic....to know more i suggest u can check with more experienced riders......this is wat i knw at best

bro USD fork are not necessarily heavier than RWU (right way up) forks..

for example.. jamie said that the rs250 is lighter than nsr item.

even the aprilia rsvr1000 forks was quoted as lighter than rgv250

eventhough in this case both are USD..

its juz that newer n higher spec ones might be indeed lighter.

Olden days (before USD fork are commonly used) RS250 are also using RSW fork for racing. Technology for USD fork are getting better but our RSW fork is also as trustworthy as it should be. Given the year of our nsr production, they could have used USD fork but instead honda chose RSW thus i am sure RSW fork have their advantages as well. Cheers!

if you notice, for some reason honda always late in using usd forks..

one example cbr600rr 03-04.. they using RWU.. but then in 05 onwards they change to usd.. why?

i have only experience riding one same bike with both RWU & USD forks (see my pic below)

and i must say i prefer the one with USD.. eventhough the two are different diameter..

the usd gives more confidence, feels more steady, faster turn in.

really much difference to me.

so if the price is right.. it's really worth it for me

lol save the world wif less smoke man!! haha 20 ml is enough for normal riding. more 2t will only choke ur pipe and instead of burning fuel u r burning 2t. haha

vondy: rvf fork ar?? can try la but a "nv buang b4" rvf fork i think in our dream then can find. haha

hmm.. kinda scary.. for me if i see no smoke the next thing i will find myself in the bike shop.. haha.. u try putting in abit more 2T? if got excessive smoke then shuld be fine.. probably is the 2T u're using is nt a premix 2T? try using motul800(offroad).. its a premix 2T..

Guidance from me? get guidance from Turbo Tortoise...he is the one i intend to learn more from.... I am very rusty and slow...been years since i been riding...

I used to ride a PGMIV many years ago...if I am not wrong...it was FN3787Z....loved the bike and got pretty used to it down at PG..then sold off...raced cars for sometime and now am back to 2 wheelers......bought me an RVF in end January recently...ran it at PG...runs well but just dont suit it for me....the stroker still burns bright in me....so I sold the RVF just after that and getting me a PGM....

wahh.. seems like u gotta quite a handful of experience though riding skills may be a little rusty.. but techniques are still there yeah..

not quite my friend...turn a steering wheel and sink into a bucket seat....cant forget cause its all about lines, braking, heel toe shifting, gear throwing etc....

but riding...there is body movement....just my last trackday....my body movement was all over the place...felt like i was turning a bicycle around the track...turn 1 PG was hilarious....felt like i was turning a bus....legs hanging off all over..body shifting wrongly.... so I AM RUSTY....sadly...
