see for urself, usually in a junction 2 harleys meet confirm atleast they'll acknowledge one another... not like ducati or agusta

I have to disagree with you on this. I have never failed to get at least a nod from any fellow ducati rider I've met on the roads so far. People even nod when they're across the junction or when turning.

maybe it varies, cause a friend i knew whom is currently riding a 1098 n in this ducati club thing, once told me that ducati riders usually consider the other ducati riders as 'competitors'

No offence meant, but you seem like the type that jump to conclusions very easily based on hearsay.

Some H.O.Gs chapters are riddled with politics. Avoid that part. They're also filled with lots of good people from different background and trades. Come for the rides, dont act superior (or feel infeior) because of what you ride. just enjoy the ride and let others enjoy too :)

Not really bro...initially you might feel the pinch due to the monthly installments however once youve over that hill its smooth sailing. It also depends to which extend you wanna "dress" up or accessorise your ride. Rule of the thumb - buy them online whenever possible coz its much cheaper that way. Maintanence wise : On average youll be spending less than $100 every 4500 km schedule servicing (Not at the dealership though coz they chaRGE BY THE HOUR). It also boils down to your preference on the parts you wanna buy. E.g A high end front tyre will cost you @$300 or more however those low end tryes will be @ half of the above price.

No advice but I think the bike looks like dirt. Would be a good bike to go around town with though. You'll be able to get something of similar riding posture for half the price (which rides better too).

Why are you interested in the XR1200 and not other brands? This is the main question.

How are you iman? Still polishing ah? heh heh.. wasting time!

It's your damn bike, wash it yourself! You rinse your own mouth after you eat, don't you?

savings not enuf brudder....:shades:but just got a double pay raise so God-willing...b4 end of the yr..

inshallah........ anyway i paid 8.2 k down payment the remaining 24.1k i took up as loan, so for 5 years $420 every mth

loan is by maybank, insurance is my liberty (damn independant company, u lie to them also they wont be able to find out)...... a damn F up one. comprehensive insurance for me, aged 25, 5 years on the road, its abt 1.4k

first of when u buy u have to bid for COE first, the dealership will do for u, then, after bidding confirm u need to come down to give ur downpayment.. the loan will not take long to be approved, depending on ur pay and ur guarantor's pay, take note that ur guarantor pay must be higher then urs

maybank would allow bike loan max 20k, i got it for 21k, so u calculate ah, 4% interest per year for 5 years, thats the total price u will be paying

or bike price - 20k loan = down payment price

something like that

Welly : Sorry bro cant give u much info on the XR coz personally I dont fancy its outlook (Sat on 1 and felt like im on a scrambler). Pls dnt take it too personal bro coz not everyone aspires to ride the same motorcycle as you (Personal preference bro). Moreover considering Im only 1.69m tall ...XR is out for me unless if its Shiraz but I doubt so coz hes a "baggerzs" for life hehe. If youre going down to HD, leave your options open to other models e.g softails:dozed:, dynas:dozed:or TOURINGS :cheeky:.....a roadking or a glide maybe... ehemmmm... (Do I hear another "baggerzs" in the house  ) As for me, I will try my best to stick to this matrix whenever Im scouting for bikes or riding apparel

a) Function first

b) Looks second

c) Leather is still best

Just my personal 2 cents view bro.

Shiraz - Eh how come youre so free? Youre supposed to polish moi bike right !!!:). Get on with it Buuooooyyyy grrrr.....

Yes welly, scrap the thought of getting the XR1200 and get a Road King. Imagine how easy it it with boxes! The comfort you get while touring with that shield! Is this positive or negative influence?

iman - i'm not gonna go NEAR that sauna fuel injection bike! heh heh..

It's your damn bike, wash it yourself! You rinse your own mouth after you eat, don't you?

Posted

yes welly, road king with white wall tyres, beach wide handle bars, off beige seats, fin tail end cans exhaust - Now thats a classic:cheeky: Actually it all boils down on what is your concept you wanna potray your ride to be hehehe. Btw, have you ever thought of how you can accessorise an XR? What about the after sale value (For a fuel guzzler ride - but need to ascertain the facts first)? Who knows...a few yrs down the road you might feel the "Itch" to try on another ride. My apologies if my feedbacks are counter productive to your intent on getting the XR but I just wanna you to really justify yourself before you take that leap. Back to the thread. So whats your current take on HOG riders? I hope that weve shown you the other side of the coin bro:)

Shiraz - Thanks for yesterday's help bro....Looks like you wont accept me as your pillion rider any more!!...Not ever!!! hahahaha

You see la iman the you keep on asking him to buy a Geezer Glide (Ultra) until he don't wanna reply.
