Question... I am going to be in a job where I'll probably spend half my time in Singapore, and half in Thailand... So, what's the procedure for riding a S'pore bike into Thailand and is there a limit as to how long it can stay there?

So for eg., I ride to Thailand, leave bike there, fly back to S'pore, then maybe a month later fly up again for other work, pick up bike and ride back etc... Do-able?

huhh?? 54 views and nobody knows ahh? aiyahh... maybe I'll just have to go and try... :)

It would be wise of you to check with the relavent authorities instead.

Nobody wants to give info, cos certain parts of certain countries, still exist in "cow-boy town-law"... this also includes border cross-points.

Bike would be yours to loose if info is inaccurate.

Probably better, if you ask online, for info on the relavent authorities regarding bike "migration".

Cheers and wishing you the best....

let me try from the best of my knowledge:

border crossing into thailand via sadao, usually will give u 2 weeks(rider) and 1 month(bike) visa. Needs to get insurance for singapore bike in thailand at the border should you be going further than 80km from border.

Rider can extend his visa through custom house in various part of thailand.(easy part)

Bike can be extended to a maximum of 6months should the bike break down(tricky part) eg engine failure etc...

Bend-it,

let ur new employer in Thailand know u will be bringing ur Singapore registered bike with u during ur employment with them, check if they r willing to help u with the legal processing allowing ur bike for use in Thailand.

hi, u can ride a bike into thai, just need to follow tru normal import procedure... (wil elaborate if u not sure)... so basically, the bike can stay there as long as it wan, cos no visa restriction...

as for urself... if u r ride in by land, ur visa is 15 days... but if u work, I think ur visa shld be long term...

sms me again if u need more info 96661021

just to elaborate abit... when u ride ur bike into thai, u do all paperwork to import the bike... there is no condition as when u muct bring out the bike... the only condition is, u have to bring it out eventually, or else u will be penalise... the bike has no visa... unlike human being... so as long as how long u can stay in thai, basically ur bike can stay as long too... or.. tenically, if u wan to dump ur bike there, also can...

Hi I am planning to enter Thailand via Malaysian Rantau Panjang and Thailand-Sungei Golok, I have a few questions and hope someone can answer:-

1) Proof of ownership of bike - can I use the a printed paper out from LTwebsite, there is no logcard nowadays,

2) I just stay one or 2 nights in Sungei Golok, and I have checked with my biker insurance, they siad it covers sugnei Golok (within 80.5 km form the borer of Malysia-Thailand)

3) what is the opening hours of the Rautau Panjang-Sugei Golok border?

People ask me, "Why ride bike?" I ask them back :"Why drive car?"

1) Yes you can, just to cover all angles, you might want to get a "Certified true copy" stamp from the bikeshop which you bought the bike from.

ok juz to share my exp at padang besar, i gave them the Printed copy from onemotoring, no Certified true copy stamp or whatsoever , and they need ur Passport to double check ur particulars against the "log card" and also ur IC cuz they juz wanna write down the address in the simplified customs form....and if i do not rmb wrongly, the date limit set for my bikes maximum stay was from year 2010-2533 so go figure....hahahhaha

Go as far as you can see; when you get there, you'll be able to see farther.
