[Discussion] Engine Oil Preference / Prices and Servicing Matters

Did not see any thread, so any guys who buy their own engine oil and bring for servicing just pay for labour ?

 

Wat are the engine oil preference .........

 

Saw shell helix ultra if with promo is ard $59 for 4L.

well i do, but seldom actually. savings like $10-30 bucks but troublesome.

 

-Buy Mobil oil from giant, 5 litres (1 big jerry can + 1 litre bot) or Redline from forum

-Buy original eo filter and oil plug seal from my AD, i dun like to use cheong type.

-Go to thomson caltex find ppl to chg ( $10 )

-Spark plug optional

 

But these 2 months have elf oil promotion range from $78-$98 with EO and EO filter, so no need so troublesome

Redline seems quite popular I guess, I bought KIC but haven't got the chance to change EO have to sell car liao

seriously i dun dare to use that oil, even with kakis using it on a normal version and a e9 using it. i still dun dare to use

 

i just dun feel safe with that price, maybe just my thinking

I bought this batch (8 X 5 liters) from Suntec Carrefour early this year. Stopped by one auntie when I was on my way to the cashier, she asked me what’s inside the carton box and thought it’s something that I grabbed from a bargain sales that she was not awared of

u wrong liao... some oil ex is becoz u pay for their "brand" i trial and error EO to suit my purpose one. no defination of the best EO, only thing i dun dare to try is royal purpur and the infamous cheap ka lau sai carl*be.

 

Somehow just couldn't move my hands to grab them off the shelves

Is it ok to topup abit of engine oil of another brand into your engine? Or i have to buy back the same brand to top up? The last oil change, the workshop go and change OWS, but i have a bottle of Mobile left.
