hi

anyone got tyre punctured by a nail before??

first suspicion was a sabotage,,because almost difficult to believe

a nail can "chun chun " be there on the road and strike your bike tyre.

share yr experience..

o_O :nono:

Yes..Not a nail but a screw (sharp)..Thank god it didn't really puncture it..It got stuck there for quite sometime so the air doesn't escape..Went to a bike shop a few weeks later got it removed and patched..Doesn't cost that much..

I have tried to see things from your point of view..But no matter how hard I try..Or what I do..I just can't get my head that far up my butt..

its a punctured tyre lah...how can your bike be punctured? :cheeky:

anyway...if you do have a nail in your tyre, my advise is to get a patch from the inside rather than "taking a jab".

those that have seen the jab will know what im talking about.

the rubber piece will only cause the hole in the tyre to expand due to movement.

anyway...nails are common...

i have seen spanners stuck in tyres before...

it's very likely to happen just from rolling over it, upright or cornering also can. not likely to be sabotage unless you find other evidence, like perpendicular entry, multiple punctures near same place, other vandalism, etc.

try to avoid sides of roads, e.g. road shoulders etc, especially in places with lots of construction and heavy vehicles, such as near PSA, industrial estates, yada yada. might help prevent picking up such things.

patching was okay for me. tyre still retains pressure well.

first rule of a puncture: DO NOT REMOVE THE NAIL/ ITEM THAT IS STUCK WITHIN THE TYRE until you are at a bikeshop.

i did that.

tyre started leaking like hell.

it was a saturday evening.

all bikeshops that i knew of were closed.

i was basically owned by a 3 inch nail.
