Hi guys....say if u are planning to go riding in Malaysia or may be up north on

an AT and going ALONE....what are the "neccessary"(other than

money, passport, towel, spare bike, bla bla bla...) items / spare parts for the

bike that are advicible to bring...are ATs break down prone..

The faster I go, the faster I want to go...

I been riding AT for nearly a year now n I love every sec when riding it but still no chance for trip so maybe someday soon.Anyway the most important is to bring a spare fuel pump.ATs are famous for their fuel pump failures but can be easily changed. Can either choose original one or the Mitsubishi one which is more cheaper and durable too.

Spare tubes are advisable since it uses spoke rims and a few fuses.

Don't worry as ATs are proven to be very reliable bike and its engine is bullet proof as long as the engine oil is sufficient.

Other useful info can be found @at-asia.com

So wat are u guys waiting for? Go get one! :bouncefire: :bouncefire: :bouncefire:

Well im not sure abt tat coz mine is registered in 2003 and my fuel pump fail on me at 50k++.Honda have rectify the problem and I heard the newer original fuel pumps have some sort of markings on it.This im not too sure. For me I've change to a Misubitshi one coz its much cheaper and been using it for 30K+ already.

And yes quick789 I think the same way you do.Although it lose out on power compared to other enduro bikes but it’s fun, practical, comfortable, economical and most importantly it oozes character!!! :thumb:

Ya...i want to know too...and what is this Misubitshi pump?.. is it meant for the

ATs...i heard that should ur pump fail...u just top up ur tank to full and it will

still work(till u get to a bike shop)...is that true?

Usually there is no symptoms. The fuel pump will juz fail on you :giddy: You will know its the fuel pump problem when ur bike wouldnt move even though there is still petrol in ur tank...During my case, everytime the bike stalls I juz wait for abt 5 to 10 mins before restarting it back again.I do this repeatedly until I get to the motorshop.

The Mitsubishi pump is juz a cheap alternative way to fix it.Its for cars actually but thank god ATs can use.Juz need some simple modifications.Easy to DIY!

Here's a little trick which I've used to keep the fuel pump working.

I alway leave my fuel c*** on RESERVE setting and fill up my tank based on the mileage indicated (meaning when I reach about 250-300km, I'd go fill up). In this case, the pump doesn't ever encounter the 'empty' state, where there's no fuel to pump. The fuel pump working during the 'empty' state, means the motor is spinning without load, and there's no fuel to cool the pump, thus, causing the brushes to burn out and fouling the pump.

I've already reached 40+k on my mileage, and the fuel pump is still working.

Hope this is helpful to the rest of the AT riders out there.

re: query on the original handlebar for AT

By the way, does any AT rider out there have a good condition original handlebar to sell? Please drop me a message? Many thanks!

hi guys, just curious, can the seat height of AT be lowered? as in can adjust the suspension so that at least my feet can touch more of the ground..

planning to upgrade to class 2 and get an AT, but i've tried sitting on one and seems like it very tall.. can hardly push forward or reverse.. im only 1.7 and ard 54kg, will i be too light for the bike??

Philosophy A: Ignore what everyone else thinks. Riding is a better way to get around. Ride paranoid and keep your skills sharp

Philosophy B: Ride with somebody who's better than you. You will pick up a handy trick or new skill just about every time you are out

Philosophy C: You don't need a big bike to prove ur passion for riding

Despite its wt at 200+kg. The bike is very nimble on the move. very easy to handle. and u wont feel it's wt when doing corner. Very fun bike. so burning acid, no problem to ur wt, u can sure handle that beast. as for the ht, the suspension can be adjusted but i'm not sure it's advisable. me no expert.

hmm.. im not afraid of its handling on the go, just scared that no strength to push the bike forward or reverse the bike stationary.. esp if my legs not long enuff to stablise..

My original fuel pump lasted 13000km only.

I always put it in reserve, always!

There are some symtom, like the engine cut off while idling.

At first, it was once a month, then soon once a week, then to 2 per week, then 3.

But it ok, just wait for a few second, can start and ride again.

So i get it change to Mitsubishi one. And it running till now (59500km)

AT is fat and slow, but due to it a V-Twin, this guy pull a hefty 200kg(me+pillion+luggage) up to Cameron or Genting easily!!
