Is OPC renewable after 10 years?

I dun think can... coz i've never really seen a car more den 10yrs on OPC plate... correct if im wrong...

Cant find LTA site where they states scheme on OPC renewal. Its good if can be renewed, i dont want to keep changing cars and waste more money liao.

oh side track a bit, can a opc travel on malaysia road on saturday without the $20 coupon? let say it enter malaysia early in the morning 5plus...

So lets say car A rd tax is $800

 

Normal Plate on 15yrs - $1200

 

OPC Plate on 15yrs - $1600

hmmmmm.......i don think its recommended to keep and use a car more than ten years. Unlike vintage bike, to maintain an old car, there are way too many mechanical and technical issues.

 

Thats why there are people who changed cars once their warranty period are over.

IMO, in sg car is only good for

 

1. Night driving

2. Buy a week or plus supplies of groceries

3. When you and your wife had made plans to meet friends on an unforseen bad weather.

Hi bros/sis my car is under-utilised, just to fetch my kids to/fro school every morning & evening & occassional outings. After the new OPC rules released in Aug I've been thinking of converting my normal car to OPC car to reap the benefits.

 

Only problem is morning child care starts at 7am and it's after the "legal" hours. Been thinking for like 2 months alrdy: leave home early, reach child care at 7:00am sharp and leave the childcare ctr by 7:05am & reach home by 7:15am (but still illegal & taking risks along the way...)

 

any advise? thanks for reading.

U wanna reap the benefits and also abuse it ah? Advise is dun test ur luck on driving after 7am without a coupon. Fines are heavy... Looking at the timing, its only a 10min drive? Why not just take a bus? Or maybe have a morning walk with the kids...

Or better idea, convert to OPC, from the money saved on Rd tax, get a bicycle with extra baby chairs and cycle ur kids to school..
