KTM 200 SM (Road-legal?)

Hi fellow bikers,

 

Was going thru the 200 EXC owner's manual. Got it online from the KTM site. I'm about to get a KTM2 EXC (converted to SM). Came across this confusing "warning" in the manual (please check attachment).

 

It says EXC (besides SX and MXC) is not meant to be road-legal. Is this some sort of joke or what? Surely, it is road-legal in Singapore, right? Cuz if it isn't I'm f*****!! Surely all those KTM riders on the road cannot be breaking any law.

 

They didn't stop at that - says no pillion! What if MHA were to ask for a ride?!? God help me if I were to refuse, citing the manual as a reason

 

Would be greatly relieved if someone were to clarify...

The maunal only states the requirement for their country, if our local LTA approves, it's legal.

 

Some countries even allow ATVs on the roads.

friend of mine told me it wasn't legal, he has a ktm200 motard but he passed his inspection. somehow they say it's "safer" ? not too sure, but yeah! he passed inspection.

get the whichever shop you buying the KTM200 SM from to send it for inspection for you..

Exc is definately legal here, unless its exc-f maybe some will still be legal? There's even some SX200 that is legal, LTA passed one batch, don't know if its by accident or what.
