hi raden, personally i choose planet is because it looks like a miniature copy of ducati monster heheh. and it looked big & comfy to ride on. and since it looked pretty gd & big sized, most prob i wun get sick of looking at it. i dun mind getting stuck with it for a few yrs till i have the money to go for class2 ducati monster or st4 :cheer:

although cagiva planet looks like a close copy from ducati monster, i read up dat the companies are actually involved with one & other, including MV agusta. thus the models from both companies are almost identical. look at ducati monster & cagiva planet. then ducati 996 to cagiva mito.

but one thing i liked most about the planet, which even the monster dun even have, is the style of the fuel tank. it came wit a chrome plate & looked as if it held a fuel capacity for a class2 bike. but they designed the fuel tank dat the bottom part is hollowed up, allowing u to squeeze a raincoat set, plus other stuff in it. and u dun have to hinge up the fuel tank, u can juz squeeze in & take out ur stuff from the sides of it heheh.

oh and i top up 10liters of fuel when the distance on my digital speedo was ard 160km & the planet's speedo ard 175km. big difference huh? and damn, the prices of petrol stayed the same even after the prices of crude oil fell abit liao? knn crude oil prices goes up, local petrol prices flew up instantly... crude oil prices came down still no signs of the local petrol prices coming down... yet. :sian: o_O

Finally managed to put on my new speedometer and its looking great! The lights are a bit different from our version, so the entire semicircle with the speed markings is lit underneath. Can hardly say much for the accuracy though, hopeless!

Damn, saw the invite from speed*demon too late.. if there is another meet up, let us know early man!

Jon, found out that nothing was wrong with the cable, the unit is spoilt. If you go down to racewerks can check in 2 min. I have a spare cable now in case u need one.

Sera, you selling your bike.. how come? :|

yoz terry! any more diy stuffy to share? heheh... :thumb:

sorry piggyfeng... i dun owned a digicam so no pics. but the speedo is mounted on the handle bar, in my case, middle of the bar, juz somewhere below where the instrumental lights are... but pls choose a wired version over the wireless ones, as the latter is prone to interference, if possible try to get one wit longer wires & the speedo can display over 100km/h. plus it's advisable to buy a neo magnet from a thread under mass ordering. then u can mount the magnet without epoxying it :thumb:

Eh... for full servicing it will depend on which motordiam you go to... if go to minerva it will be more expensive lo.... normal motordiams charge about the same as other 2b sports bikes... changing of E.oil depends on what type of E.oil you buy... actually thru my personally experience changing of piston and stuff also not very much more expensive... a brand new piston is abt 280... my friend who riding a SP changed his piston at 250 at First motor... so only $30 diff....

my one is by cateye. actually is my old bicycle computor used for 1.5yrs, discarded for almost a yr, then used on my planet heh...

actually any brand of speedo can use, as long as it wired version, wire long enough, & can display speed above 100km/h :thumb:

think my rear tire need changing... how much for the rear one? the bridgestone bt090s? how much & where to get it cheap? broke liao

hey jon, dont think its a very safe idea to change only one tyre... one of the most basic safety tips for tyres is to change them both at the same time, otherwise its not balanced thro corners.. Anyway u say ur fronts are so old as well, unless u r really broke that cannot buy front tyre as well now :goodluck:

I dont think i will fit a digital speedo for a while... need to save up money for other things (hrd sigma speedos cost $70!) Btw, can have both speedos connected to front wheel at same time?

Also, guys is it worth goin to m'sia to get new tyres?!
