hi. been searching around on the above topic and found some threads, though none seem to address my concerns directly. as such, i am posting this one.

my bike (125cc 2-stroke) is VERY loud and high pitch. it is way louder than most other bikes i've come across and higher pitch. when compared to an SP or an RS, i think mine is way too loud and too high.

i am looking to see if there is a way for me to make my bike sound softer (in decibels) and also to sound lower (in frequency).

i understand that there are some end-cans (are these same as mufflers?) that can lower the sound...but may not make it softer.

i also understand that there are some ways to make it louder by removing a baffle within the muffler...but seems there's no way to "add" a baffler.

is there anyone who knows how to do this or can offer some thoughts on where i might be able to get an answer? i ride late at night very often and always get very worried when coming home cos i have to ride pass many homes.

all answers appreciated.

hi.

to answer some questions that were raised.

yup, will be heading to bike shop to inquire for sure. just wanted some opinions so i know my available options just in case shop says "change this, change that".

yes, everything is stock right now. no cuts or mods to the exhaust that i am aware of. everything looks completely stock to me.

adding fibre to the end can will help? will try that :)

Ah a Mito! Arrows buzzes very nicely dude.. It'll be a pity to tone it down.. Your bike will loose it's character.. Imagine ur Alfa without the signature engine tone? My suggestion will be ear plugs,or if u really wanna tone it down I think the newer models comes w more restricted exhaust system.. Enjoy your ride.. Cheers!

THATS WHY!! A Cagiva Mito Is Such A Cool Ride!! Cooler Than All The SPs And KRs!!

Dont Tone It Down Man!! You Gotta Flaunt It Bro!! Hahahaha!!

well, if my bike is equal in loudness to other mitos, i'd be happy. however, at the moment, my bike is at least 2-3x louder and that is a problem.

go repack the fibre?

can add holes to the silencer to reduce sound? or maybe the silencer is already just nice with no room for more holes.

Problem solved. Turned out inside the exhaust there is a lot of fibre wrapped around the centre pipe. However, the 2T has clogged up some part of the fibre and so it wasn't working properly. That part was cut off and the fibre rewrapped and now the sound is SO much better.

Thanks for the tips!
