That is a good idea and i do agree that it does get kinda warm and hot.

HOw much would a reg armour mesh jacket cost?

However, upon trying the raincoat, realised that i was warm even in the air-conditioned room. i.e. i wun last 2 mins in it on a hot day if i intend to wear it like my mesh jacket. however, it definitely target a special need - armor in the rain.

Also, what i personally dun like is that the inner pockets are not well manufactured - can feel the edges of the plates, which happens to be quite pokey - cant imagine being poked by it in any undesireable situation.

cheers.

That i agree. It is kinda stuffy and hot. But for the price of the jacket and armour, i guess sure got the cons ba.

How much does a mesh armor jacket cost?

dez a few types of mesh jackets - soft armor or hard armor or mixed.

cost more than $150 for good ones. i got my entry level mesh jacket at $50 first hand dou - sale at mah motor long time ago..

i agree that for $80, the techn armor pieces is worth it, at least.

i got mine 1 year ++ ago right after i passed my 2b, from the shop opp Sungai Road Market ( is it under Chong Aik ?? )

brand - Viper, soft armour

i got it together with a MHR flip up both for $300

if i remember right, helmet was 120 and jacket was 180?

have taken a slide with the jacket and it's literally saved the skin of my back! and no scratch on the jacket :)

presently using a pretty heavy duty raincoat from HKL, bought it the day i picked up my Phantom there :)

I got my Techn Armour Rain cost about 3 weeks back. Haven't been wearing it because it really get warm when worn in slow traffic in hot weather. And the fact that it's quite inconvenient to fold into a package small enough to put in my 45l box to put together with my helmet make me feel think twice whenever I thought of bringing my Techn along in dry weather. Guess I kind of regret buying it. But as an armour jacket with rain protection it will do the job nicely. If I can find a quick and convenient way to fold it into my box then it will be great.

Actually i already read about the vents fomr this thread and i was sure to close up the vents. And the neck area was totally dry. The weird thing is the arm pit area was wet. And the stomach area too.. Weird..

Yea it does get super hot when it is a hot day and when u stop @ the traffic lights.

Nowadays i just zip up halfway and it does help......a little only.

And i too have the problem of squeezing the jacket and my FF into my Zues 45L box.

Tried to squeeze into Givi SImply 45L and it is possible to close with some squeezing. Tried to do the same for Zues 48L and it just closed nicely..guess it is time to change my box liao. :faint:

That is really weird....so far i have no problems with the rain.....except my left side waist strap came off when i overtightened it.....:dozed:

I guess price = quality does come into play in this case.

Anyone knows where i can get it sewn back?

Hi Zhi Ming,

Sorry to hear abt ure accident from your post on PK.

Hope u get ureself armored ASAP.

Well, i believe my initial post is pretty detailed.

As for user reviews, the jacket does get hot when u are stopping @ the traffic lights.

But when u are on the go, it is pretty ok as long u dun zip all the way up to the neck during the day.

At night when the weather is cooler, u can zip all the way to the next and the airvent should be enuff to cool you down.

One good thing about this is when it does start to rain, u only need to put ure rain pants on as the jacket is already water proof liao.

Some others mentioned that they experienced leakage for so far no problems for me.

If u still find it too hot, they have mesh jackets too. Thinks just came in not too long ago.

And the best is actually the price of the jacket. Not too sure about the price for now, but u can give them a call.

If u like, i can also show u the jacket if we happen to meet up during an FNO or SNM. :cheeky:

I got the black one.. does werks and keeps the rain out. mine is XL... not that hot too probably for me i ride by 8am and after 7pm... only thing my pants length is kinda short but he explain cause ang mo's usually wear boots... and their customer service priceless...i sms them regarding rain shoe cover and he replied with my name.. goes a long way even thou i went there only twice...

great for budget jackets that provides pads and keeps water out. quality not bad too.. only hindside is that its kinda hassle to carry around and also it is not a "speeding jacket" where u hit 250km/hr plus and not expect it to tear...its mainly a rain jacket and ur not gonna ride at that speed in the rain...!

bought mine ytd and the promotion was over! had some minor problem with it, but he offered me to return to exchange for another piece or refund if i didnt like it, i was shocked and thankful...

hopefully he can improve it and make a real good and affordable one for us (his current one is not bad alrdy, depending on the body shape of the user) its not ez to find a waterproofing armored jacket within this price range...

ups for his great salesman ship & product! :thumb:

I paid $79.90 for the jacket which is inclusive of the armor pads.

I got it at their showroom located at Blk 541 Jurong West Ave 1 #01-1046C.

Was looking for a armor jacket so i took a closer look and bought it today as the price was quite attractive IMHO.

I got the yellow to increase visibility and they do come in other colours like red, blue and black.

This being my 1st armor raincoat/jacket so do bear with me if there are things which i overlook or inaccurate.

1st impression was that it being a raincoat, it would be quite hot to wear during the days and will prob defeat the purpose of being armored up during the day.

At the same time, it is water proof thus i will remove my rain coat and just put my rain pants in my box in case of rain.

However, the jacket has air vents that is said to let air through and would be the same as wearing a windbreaker.

Inside there are armor pads for the elbows, shoulders and the back. The pads are not plastic, they are more of a impact cusioning PU pads which absorbs impact.

More importantly, they are from Knox which are from UK and they are CE certified.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CE_mark

http://www.planet-knox.com

The pads are held in place by pockets sewn in the internal netting of the raincoat and the elbow pads are furthur held in place by adjustable straps at the arms.

An interesting feature would be the stomach straps or "tummy" straps. This allows the jacket to be adjusted to fit properly so ensure the back armor will be in the best position to protect my back. Best suited for "pot bellied" ppeps like me.

Their sizes range from XS to XXXL.

The jacket is actually designed by a fellow Singaporean and the pads are from Knox from UK.

I will be updating this thread as i use it and keep up peeps update.

under heavy rain it holds up very well...

the only problem is it is very very thick...

when you dry it make sure the wrist area is totally dry before you keep it if not you will have the damp smell...

that area takes some time to dry cause its quite thick...
