Contemplating the 2012 R1 for the longest time, and when it finally comes out - I'm quite disappointed it's not a total revamp. Should have upped the power in all RPM ranges. Glad the TC is implemented, at least its up to par with the beemer and the kawi and duke. It needs to lose a little weight too

 

But that's strictly speaking from a competitive point of view. The crossplane is beautiful and it's uniqueness is profound. I wish I had the money

The Traction Control is very important. I wish I have that, especially existing the corner.

New ECU settings provide excellent drivability during low and mid rpm acceleration.

New top triple clamps add to the appearance of the YZF-R1, reminiscent of the MotoGP® powerhouse YZR-M1.

The footrests have been redesigned for great boot sole contact and advanced rider/motorcycle interface.

New headlight cowl styling and LED position lights enhance the YZF-R1’s unique styling.

New silencer heat guards and end caps are re-styled to give the rear end of the bike a more compact look ,while at the same time making the individual parts look more mechanical.

Hi guys, I read an article that the '07 R1 is down on torque and and mid-range power as compared to the other 1k sportsbikes. Is there a reason for this?...Maybe fueling? Weight? Elects? Exhaust emmisions? TPS issues? Would love to know as I feel it should be as good if not better than the others:) Hope to get your wise opinions guys,cheers!

well does it matter if 07 model's "HP" or power lose to others? all 1 litre sportsbikes are almost the same. doesnt really matter.. most important get a bike that u like n make u smile when u ride it aint it?

Well said.. Let u have a 1000cc bike regardless of what year what flaws .. If u dun have the guts or balls OS steel to open the throttle u will still lose a sparky or r6 on the road...

Most imptly u must love the design outlook and such... Enjoy what u riding .. But If u r really the performance type u gotta try the "cross-plane" (did I spell it right?) R1 '09 and above..

And as u can see from some previous post by Maxbg..

It shows the crossplane technology R1 coming in first to the rest of the latest model sports bike...

 

A good example look at FuFu..

Says the ducati is way HOTTER than his previous R1.. Riding posture sux.. Flat petrol on the tank like as if u can eat Nasi lemak on the go.... But as he ride pass ppl... Ppl are sure to turn their heads to look a second more ... He just keeps riding and smiling to himself ... He shiok!!

 

U can get the best comparison between all the different models but still the end decision for most ppl is the one they like,love and comfortable with ...
