I think Scuba prices are standard throughout the world... its not much of a difference maybe 100 at most. Its more important to know who can provide the right safety for the the bucks. From the functionality of the equipment to the skill and attitude of the instructors to the air refill station. You never knows what kind of air gets compressed inside the tank. So, go for safety and track records. Its not worth risking your life for cheap stuffs. Also, if you do it with local operators, you get in touch with a bunnch of scuba enthusiasts to do the dive with you after the course.

I would go overseas for the better view thats all.

i'm with this centre http://www.waikikidive.com/

their packages are slightly more expensive, but they are reputable and the instructors and dive masters are all very friendly.

the season for the malaysian waters like P.Aur and Tioman are closed due to the monsoon season. the next trip are in March. so if you want to take up scuba diving now, the only place is P.Hantu, which i wont really recommend cos the visibility is very poor.. around 5 metres compared to tioman (15m) and aur (20m)

Can try friendly water sports too.

The services are not bad. Last trip is tis weekend. But i dun think u can make it considering u need to take theory and pool lessons.

Price wise.. it is quite reasonable.

Try taking lessons locally and join the dives overseas.. U wun get much to see things when u r doing drills. Not much difference.
