Any reviews on this bike? I saw one uncle riding it FDE plate, the looks resemble Yamaha FZ150i but the headlamp was very special.

Dual disc brake some more.

Model = 2009 honda tiger

Engine size = 196 (cm³)

Weight =145(kg)

Tank size =14.5(l)

Tank range =550 (km)

Fuel consumption =2.5 (l/100km)

Maximum speed =140 (km/h)

RPM at 100km/h = 6000

delicious factors are the high max speed (for a 2B bike), 6-speed gear, good Fuel Economy.

yah u're rite, perhaps can go more than 140km/hr. Hardly see a 200cc on the road... apart from Honda Phantom. Seems comfortable cruising around.

Hi. I am currently riding this bike. Bought it over two months ago, and I guess I am the first owner of the Honda Tiger model in Singapore, lol! ( cause I bought it like a few days after it was launched in Singapore, and when I made my purchase the guy was telling me "first owner, first owner", haha.)

I got this bike about a week after passing my 2B TP test. Went around bike shopping, and initially planned to get the Bajaj Pulsar. But when I saw this bike for the first time, I thought that this can't be a 2B bike, cause it was rather large and powerful looking. But when I enquired, sure enough, it was a 2B bike with engine displacement of 197 cc. I thought for a while and purchased it on impulse. The main reasons on why I got it were:

- Big and powerful looking

- The exclusive factor, given it is a new bike, so rare find on the road.

- Street bike, plus confortable sitting posture.

I am still new to the entire riding experience but I would say that Honda Tiger is a pretty solid bike. Pick-up is very good, fuel economy is good, crusing at 70-110 km/h is very smooth. I have never tried going full throttle, but the fastest I have gone is about 130 on the bike.

Having said all this, I think one must still think whether or not they are to get this bike (or any other bike for that matter). OTR + Insurance cost me a total of just under $8000. If someone is going to use a 2B like only for a short while before upgrading to a 2A, this they might NOT want to consider spending so much on a 2B bike. Plus when I start maintainance on my bike, I do not know whether parts will be easily available and how much they will cost. So ya, one may be better off sticking to a more mainstream bike.

Sorry I am still pretty new to bikes, so I do not know. Anyway to check.

tiger got kick start and electric start?got main stand??btw can i check with u is tiger higher than cbf 150?i'm rather short

Yes Tiger has both kick start and electric start. Erm, I am not too too sure which is higher, but I stand at around 178cm and I would say that Tiger is pretty high.

a very gd bike indeed. a VERY TEMPTING bike indeed. a competitor to pulsar 200. both of these bikes r popular in indonesia. yesh, both of these bikes r rugged indeed. i recomend both of these bikes to all of u. only thing is, pulsar's parts r expensive here, not in indonesia though. i duno abt d tiger. at any case, enjoy n ride safely.

I think the price has dropped alot now that Bike production has stepped in and bring in this bike. Last I called, they quoted $4500 machine price. OTR price excluding insurance, should be below $6000 only.

I find that its a butt-ugly bike.

But then again, its a honda, 6-speed and has kick start. :) So you know you'll never go wrong...

Hello guys. I'm changing job soon & will stop driving & back to motorcycle. After survey, plan to get a Honda Tiger soon! Checked prices with 3 bike shops & plan to get from Bike Production. Did a search & found the engine should be the same as Phantom 200. Will be my very 1st brand new bike!

Last sold my KR on Sept 2009. Itchy to ride again.

Can post the prices of the 3 shops that u visited. A breakdown of the prices would be appreciated. I'm too looking at this bike as a potential replacement for my honda phantom.

Update: me booked a Honda CBX Twister 250 instead. Almost the same price.

hi bro...I am actually considering to change bike and initially planned on cbx250 bcz of the FC and at the same time i needed the xtra power due to always pillioning the missus.but nid to get 2a fer the xtra 50cc is the pain in the rear fer me lol...dun mind sharing y u chose cbx over tiger?this is the 1st time im reading abt honda tiger and i find it to be the readily-available bike for me den the 250,class wise.or isit worth to get 2a and den the cbx?:cheeky:

currently riding vxr200 but age is catching up and planning to get a longterm transport...and oso saving up la..hehe

Up to u. If your gilera power seems adequate, then get the tiger. I choose CBX coz the price almost the same, 2a or 2b not a factor. Road tax only extra $12 a year; = extra $1 a month for CBX. Fuel consumption almost the same oso, engine oil extra ~0.3 litre. But Tiger better in braking; dual brake disc.

Be happy always :-)
