Hi All,

 

As you all know that our Late Bro, Lawrence Tan aka Ones_Co has passed on. He had planned and organized a "Trip up north" to Indochina with his good friend psychex aka Wei Jie. Information

 

Now he has passed on, Wei Jie will complete this trip alone and also fulfil his last wish he had when he is still around, due to things happened too sudden and also last minute to get people to go together with him.

 

I now announce that I will be the one whom is going to give information's of his Daily sms he will send to me about the trip he had for the day, to be updated in this brand new thread.

 

A friend of ours had open up a Blogspot to do a complete update of the Day of the Trip, for more information's please visit this Blogspot

 

Lawrence will look upon Weijie and take good care of him for this trip, stay tune to this thread.

good mrning everyone! sorry bout the summerised sms. gotta limit to 1 page daily. detail report will be up when i return.

 

meanwhile a little details.

was lucky to bump into 2 sg riders @ the train station yesterday

we will be catching 3pm train to Bangkok, 15hr train ride, so sadly no riding today but will be able to save time and money.

 

so far bike doing fine with FC averaging >25km/l.

ok gotta catch some lost slp b4 i checkout. will update again when i able to tap into some wifi connections.

On a 15hr train to BKK. Din noe so much "kopi" $ needed to book and load the bike up the train. Oh well, still cheaper den riding up. :cheeky:

Rat bike - A motorcycle not necessarily kept in pristine condition, often painted matt black. Minimal maintenance and mismatched parts often used.

hi guys! thnkz for all the support and encouragement. the trip have been goin smooth, met a few foreign riders and travellers here in Chiang mai. meeting em up tonight for lil Xmas celebration.

 

what amaze me was, u can actually spend less den S$5 on ur daily meal! how nice! settled my lunch for 0.85 cents! niceeeeeee

 

anyways...explored Doi Su Thep today...beautiful place with plenty of twisty roads and breathtaking sceneries! a place not to miss when u visit Chiang Mai.

 

planning for tml's route now. due to xmas and new year coming...everyone seems to be flocking to MHS and Pai to celebrate....nt sure if i will encounter same prblm as Lawrence last yr with him seeking 30+ full hse .

self update today. Settled back @ Chiang Mai again. All those twist and turns, up and down thru Mae Hong son takes forever. 200km can take you 4+hrs just to clear! Chatted with a few local tourers @ the end of the route, thy suggest that i head back to Chiang Mai and head up to Chiang Rai or Golden Triangle via another route.

 

a lil insights on the MHS loop,

1,864 twist and turns, uphill and downhill roads. Its crazy with some parts having downhill with 3 hairpin turns. When the signs say 30km/h it really mean it. One moment you will be @ 1000+m above sea level and next u will be 400m elevation. The on coming vehicles are crazy with some cutting opp lanes when nego. sharp turns.

 

ok i'm off to meet shoei_com frm SBF...gonna have some fun with fellow Singaporeans. =)
