dwarf hamsters

it's not too good to keep 2 breeds in a cage, i feel.

cos there'll be bullies & victims (likely the winter whites)

 

in any case, winter whites would be the most docile among the breeds.

mine can even clean their paws while i bathe them!!

 

quite amazing as hamies dun like water by nature.

dun know why mine like dat one..haha

bugis village one , is located near the former CBD booth .

chinatown one , is at the hawker centre .

quite cheap , price arnd $15 -30 . depends on how the auntie quote . but i think cheapest is at aljunied cresent .

mmm... the hamster is kinda like sitting on my fingers with front paws

resting on my palm.

 

i will scoop the warm water with my right hand and pour over their body.

den with a few drops of small animal shampoo on my right fingers,

gently rub the fur being careful not to get the head wet at all times.

 

the idea was taken from seeing how human mothers clean their babies.

it's the same concept lo !

 

it's interesting when hamster trust ur HAND, they'll enjoy the bathe !!

 

i only do it once a mth for the sibling pair.

so gd , got mum sponsor , me got alot of mouth to feed leh . (bike , gf , hammies)

i onli use water n clean .

not sure abt other breeds, but winter white's body oil on fur

has good water repellent properties.

 

it's also due to that which gives out the animal's scent...maybe odour

 

so shampooing will disinfect and clean coat while the herbal fragrance

make you wan to sayang it more lo !

 

aniwae dun think it's expensive lo. buy one can use 1 yr i think...

well.. im having a Dwarf Campbells Russian Hamster....

colour is e normal 1..brownish grey with dark grey undercolour ..

 

i also using wood shaving w lemon fragance...

food will b Harry Hamster -Premium Complate Food

 

as for bathing, imusing bath sand lor... e packaging printed w all jap words 1...

Mine is robo kanna bullied. When i try to place them together, the winterwhite opened its mouth (like showng itslf tat its fierce.) My robo quite 'gong gong' one.

Its actually the winterwhite who started fighting. They fight n became a fur ball, then my robo started to urine........

 

My hamsters dun like to bath they run like mad...

i feel that if u want to buy hamsters is best that u don't go shop and buy. better if u buy from ppl. cause when ppl don't want the sell, if can't sell they throw! the poor hamsters to poor thing like that! any how it is cheaper to buy from ppl. i got mine from yahoo there sapphire 3weeks old only $6. cheaper then any shop!

All old old liao. Don't want them in breeding. All related except for the Campbells.

Turn them over, if the space between the anus and genitilia is farther, it's a male. Closer, it's a female. Hope it helps.

 

Anyway, the males have testicles that are quite prominant. When they run, they look like they're wearing heavy diapers! So cute....

I have over 20 hamsters before, but never got them from pet shops at all. Mianly got them from yahoo or pet forums. It's sad to see the state of the hamster in pet shops!
