u could try FJT. or get them to order for u. I bought my bike brand new, came as part of the accessories- only accesory in fact :( lol.

It's not cheap and hard to come by. You can try FJT as recommended by sambora67

Else other options would be a tank bra ($150 new, used $100-120), or studded grip from motoworld

Happy hunting

1) Service fork oil + change seal perhaps set u back around $130 +/-

2)Top overhaul ? If top over haul might as well replace your radiator coolant hoses (all of them) and thermostat. Service carb and inspect float bowls for fine cracks.

3)There is an st member who does respray. Should set u back much cheaper than outside shop...(Pm me). Reliable workshop depends on individual as some are fans of certain shops. Keep your options open when do servicing.Dont just depend on one shop..

Should set you back about 30+ to 40 at any reputable bike shop.Could be slightly less if regular. Make sure no bubble trap inside.

Greetings ST1300 owners, I have a query that has been bugging me since day 1 I owned this ride. Is the mileage displayed before all the petrol in the tank is used up during the 1 bar warning accurate?

Mine has been reading about 62-65km even when I've rode about 20km into the 1 bar warning. My current tank mileage is about 420km. If the reading is accurate then the total mileage I'd get for the whole tank would be about 480-500km per full tank! Marvelous! Haha! Appreciate the input to my query, people!

Cheers,

Nic

Hi Nic

The metering is similar for Honda cars that I have own. They are the best possible average calculated based on your speed constancy, the riding style (trottling, changing gears, idling time, etc) over the journey offered by the on board computer. I usually take that as a good guage but wont want to take the risk to run out of fuel by depending on what is displayed.

When it blinks, you should be in the reserve tank of about 5 litres. so if you work out your mileage/liter to be about 17-19km, than the 5 litres reserve should make you a distance of 85-95km more. : )

Cheers

Well for me i learned the hard way (more than one occasion ...) not to rely on the bars. I only look out for the blinking one which mean i got about 70km to go ... well that's what i tell myself anyway. Cause the blinking means u got about 5L to go, so i base the last 70 on 15km/l.

But that's to be safe, i usually get 17km/l so that's also in the 490km range like you so i think your calculation is pretty accurate.

Anyway about what the manual says, here you go i took a pic with my phone.

hi how do u guys judge the average consumption for the ST13? Is it by the meter? Or manually?

manually lor i count when i pump. The meter shows my consumption but it is usually a little bit off.

Not really lah... the computer is likely to be more accurate cos they take into account warming up your bike, waiting time at traffic light or for your gal : ), and other activities when your engine is idling.

For me I do both... the kiasu syndrome, and they are about there lah

Thanks for the input, maclife! Makes perfect sense! Now I can ride connfidently when I'm in the 1 bar zone. Greatly appreciate it, mate!

Appreciate the trouble you took with the pic! Just curious, what was the hard way you encountered? Empty gas tank despite the readings?

I do get about 13-14km/l sometimes but it seems that the total mileage of a filled up tank is similar to what I get now nonetheless. Strange!

Cheers, people!

No problem. Yes that happened. once i was on the highway, it was blinking but indicated that i still had 30km more to go. next thing i know it displayed - -. then a few km later (not on the highway anymore) my bike ran totally and completely out of petrol!!! and traveled less than 10km!!!

That's why now once i notice it blinking i look at my trip and +70km as my safety max. i don't trust the "remaining distance" indicator.

hence my lack of trust in the electronics! hahhaah

Hi Folks

I notice the sensor or computer may not be that acurate.

Last time when the meter is blinking, I was going up a slope, then the meter

show my remain mileage has only 55 km. Better don't take risk.

My average fuel consumption on the meter is 17.5km. but manual

calculate is 18km cause I always only put in 20litres of fuel.

and it can hit more than 360km before reserve.
