You may want to check out the latest issue of Bike magazine from UK. There is a report on the comparison of ST1300, FJR1300, BMW K1150RT and Triumph Sprint.

Of course it will best to hear the feedback from ST1300 owners!

Hi Xiaohei,

Congratulations! You are one of the few ST1300 owners.

Could you share with us:

1. Where did you buy from? What type of insurance was included in your price? Any other freebies/extras included?

2. Having ridden it for a few months, what are the things you like most about ST1300?

3. What are things you hate most about ST1300?

Thanks you and this was my dream bike which i finally able to get it after so many year.

Q1. Where did you buy from? What type of insurance was included in your price? Any other freebies/extras included?

A1. I brought it from "Wing Fuat" which is at sim drive and they actually get the bike from Boon Siew. For the insurance is first party which cost me $1400 and from AXA.

Q2. Having ridden it for a few months, what are the things you like most about ST1300?

A2. The power is different from what i have ride from the last bike which is double the cc. Really feel great when riding a bigger bike and always got people look at you when on the road and also the TP as well.hehe... Mine happen to be white so is really TP look alike when from far. Have already bring this bike with me for a few trip and the last one is to hatyai and feel relax when riding it even with pillion.

Q3. What are things you hate most about ST1300?

A3. The most thing i hate is when the bike get dirty and really need alot of time to clean it. The other thing is parking cos sometime the slot is really too small and you cannot park even is empty.

Thanks Xiaohei for sharing.

White is indeed nice for ST/STX. Unfortunately, TP also white and white need to clean a bit more.

Hmmm...interesting. XiaoHei rides DaBai. Kekekeke.:cheeky:

e bike price u guys talking abt is it first hand or 2nd? 30k OTR for first hand ST1300 is not very ex ba... u paying by installment? how much per mth?

Posted

That's right. Following factors might affect up to a couple of K of difference:

- Insurance: First (comprehensive) or second party

- How much loan? Bike share earns commission from loan. So down all more expensive bike price.

- Bike is from Boon Siew or parallel imported? BS bike more expensive.

This assumes no trade-in of current bike. If there is a trade-in of current bike, bike shop could play around the selling price of new bike and buying price of your old bike. So things become even harder to compare.

I got my STX 1300 at $30K for first hand.

I trade in my old bike and the down payment is $6.5K.So to say push my bike in and get the new bike out.

As for the installment I take 5 year and paying $490 per month.

If you got any other things that you want to know can always ask me and i will answer to the best of mine knowledge.

Both FJR and STX are tourer bike so is really depend on which you like more.

I only ride the STX for a few month so i really dun know much the different.

As each has their own view only those who ride both bike before can answer you better. Even you ask me the different between ST and STX i also cannot answer What is the different but what i know the different is what i can see lor.hehe

difference r:

- lighter weight, manoveuring made slightly easier.

- useful features like cruising speed mileage remainder counter, electronic windsheild & manual seat height adjuster(rider only).

- ABS/CBS

- more horsepower, effective throttle response from 2200rpm compared to ST1100.

- improved elegant design, a beauty I should say. :thumb:

My old bike worth $7k and the road tax is $239 and interest is 4%.

The balance is use to pay road tax and some other document stuff.
