hey guys, i just came up from downstairs,

spent 4hours plus on my bike..

after dismantling my air box, i still DIDN'T manage to mod anything,

damn those air intake flap solenoid thingy is useless..

especially after i have disabled it last year..

i planned to yank out the whole flap one day with better tools..

anyway i did manage to disconnect the o2 sensor with success!! (no engine checklight)..

Bike seems more responsive and smoother..maybe its all in the mind..hahaha..

anyway thanks for entertaining my shout-outs!!

hahahahaha

yamaha's brilliant flap invention(works like a trap door). crap in my opinion.

Royksopp,

I disconnect the flap by using the JBX method.Solenoid Tube end blocked with ball bearing to keep the flap open all the way.

I also have the same idea as you.Want to grind and cut the opening of the airbox for more air intake...

Past rides are already history....

Yeah, i used Mr. JBX method too. I didn't yank the whole solenoid set out (in case i can't find where i plc it). Yeah it does smooth out the low rpm part quite a bit.

VeeTwin Power after u rode a twin... u never want a straight four!!!

Thats the first thing I did after I got my bike.Cause already saw JBX did...so i dun kw the open and close effect...

I thinking changing to K&N since my air filter already more than 20k...u using stock or aftermarket?

guys,

hear me thru this,

Especially those with aftermarket exhaust and airfilter or airbox mod or wanna cut airbox, i guess you get my drift lah..hahaha

Even if you have set your co2 settings to a very high point,

Your O2 sensors will LEAN it out..it is there to stop the cats being flooded with rich mixture. that is why its located just before the cats..

(anyway most aftermarket exhaust in singapore got no cats) hahaha

any mod that increases air intake or output will lean out the fuel unless proper tuning is done..i.e.. power commander..

dashboard co settings can only help to a certain extent..

i am now free as a bird havent start my new work..

so AJ no probs at kim keat :)

James, i am using KNN..

from my 4th pic you can see the round like plastic rivets on the flap cover..

that one i dont know how to take out lah.. hahah

but please do try to disconnect the O2 sensors..its totally reversible..

dont worry the ECU wont self compensate cos its running the sensors on a simple open loop system.

its the one under the tank NOT at the Exhaust ok.. :cheeky:

cannot give you a straight answer, cos i dont have a dyno machine..

actually just sharing what i did, and wanna hear more inputs..

Do u have another picture of the O2 sensor connectors beside the one u post which already been bandaged by black tapes?

by the time i realised i wanna take pictures, i have already taped up..

stupid sia..

any way there only about 3 connectors below the tank..

just follow the wire from the o2 sensor..

and do the old trick of pulling to see which connector moves..
