front disc... better use breaking... or at least OEM..

we are using rear one from China.. so far no problem..

Took the bike from jeff & noticed 'knocking' when front braking. Suspected one of the rotors loosen as I had the same problem with my GSX400RR Slingshot.... Err.... Back in 1995... and i was right... One of the front rotor kapoot liao.. Guess the manufacturer didn't fix this kinda problem since then.

I think I'll go for OEM and most likely will change both front rotor.

Just document it for the sake in future if you have leaking coolant near the engine area...

Brought the O-ring from Auto Machinery...

Need to removing the side fairing, lift up the oil tank and air filter box too... Remember to use some cloth to cover the air intake valve... Anything drops inside = nightmare :dozed:...

As Kmax, mention you need the right tools to dismantle the ring lock on the coolant rubber hose from the thermostat unit... a 6mm socket...

It takes me awhile to dismantle it cos the screw is facing the front (radiator)... Have to twist and turn to get it loosen...

**Note: when putting back the rubber hose lock screw, try to face it upward instead of forward so that it can be easily access next time if you dismantle it...

Finally, manage to get the thermostat out. Loosen two bolts on the unit and there you go the O-ring is out... There lots of rust and debris collected in the unit, manage to scrape it off...

Put the new O-ring in and it fits perfectly...

Job satisfaction level = 98% cos when putting in the new O-ring note that the black plastic cover does not seal evenly onto the thermostat housing. Might be due to aging... Will monitor how it goes... At least this morning when I start the engine, there is no more leaking of the green coolant... Yea...

For all the work done, just to replace a SGD$2 (inclusive 7% GST) O-ring... Errr....
