I am always thinking of selling.....Just like Kmax & Joekia.... think only. Unless someone can chut a decent price loh. And the bike is running fine too so also duno sell or keep.

 

Waiting for my friend to sell his S10 maybe.... packed with accessories! But sibeh heavy. Also eyeing on the F800GS. There is an on-going promo at PML and the bike is going for around $26K?? Sama sama parallel twin but with the beemer tag.

 

This set of panniers looks awesome man...... but the rack are for Tenere 660 and dont think Yamaha has for our TDM. Need to visit SK but i am so sure they are going to cost a hand and a leg.

Cannot like that say lah.... the GS is brand new mah. But as we discussed before i got my TDM.... the parts would be a pain (in the pocket). And the real thing is although I prefer the S10, I also want the bike to be nimble enough. Been stuck in jams couple times on my TDM and manoeuvring it around is such a pain!

Correction on the F800GS pricing. It's $29K. But current promo is PML will waive COE and reg fees. Pay only machine price and your own insurance.

brand new bike always looks good only at showroom, once you step out to driveway, become second hand already.

 

and have you compared to 26k vs the garage sale second hand price ? how much is th pain in pocket when the time comes to sell ?

 

but it does not matter right... riding the batch worth it all.. :thumb:

it was me and i have already asked ah ann, he said he will get aluminium plate and we cut ourselves...

because he says it sounds like a V-twin "feel & hear" the power; according to seller.:cheeky:

 

Guys can help, is it worth buying the Yamaha top rack from Hong Leong for $195(black)/$250(chrome)...this rack allows tdms to fit givi monokey.

 

my givi box is bobbling terribly

Victor.... how is the rack mounted now? Maybe just need some reinforcements. My SW Motec trax baseplate mounts on the original rear rails with extended screws i.e. the rack is secured to the body frame instead of only the rails. On top on this, i have a bracket to secure the baseplate to the rails. It is super secured.

 

If u spend $250 on a rack, might as well consider the Trax which costed me $530. But it's 38L so only fit 1 mullet or squeeze 2 open-face w/o visors. hahahaha!!

The plate is not universal and only for SW Motec boxes. I suggest u see how to secure your current givi baseplate first. It is a matter of securing and I dont think it's the rack's problem. As mentioned, try see instead of using brackets to secure the baseplate to the original rails, take out the 2 screws closer to the seat and replace with longer ones and tied directly to the baseplate to the rails to the body.

 

But if u wana change top box and don mind a 38L, I got the Trax from Chiap Lee. I think someone riding a fazer bought at 580 (kena slaughtered).... I got mine at 530 including installation (done at 219).

there are 2 types of top box rack.. one is universal base plate.. and another is the rack itself.

 

here's sw motech base plate ala universal rack

the universal base plates can attach to original rack with long screws.... and they are not strong as TDM specific rack.

reason.. they are using screws.. no additional support.. / bracket / frame... and there were incidents of screw came loose and such.
