i have a voltmeter lined to the battery, and recently the readings have being switching between 10.+ or 8.+ when i turn the bike on. is this a sign the battery is weak and time to change? it used to be more consistent at 10.+ a couple of months ago...

Mine always reads 11-12+V when turned on & voltage would stay 12+ 13V when started.

 

Check ur battery or worse case scenario might be magneto coil kapoot'ing?

yep, your battery is weak now.. can send to shop to recharge first before changing new one.

coz your volt meter is connected to rectifier, not from battery. this is more like monitoring the power generated from ractifier but not monitoring the battery actual voltage.

but this way, you can tell whether rectifier of magnetic coil is failing.

Bro to measure the actual voltage, tap it across the battery like the ERP unit does... Then you can monitor the actual voltage...

Huh.. Why mine so weird? Mine is 12.8+ before start and 14.1+ when started and still the same when riding..

i reckon Sat will be better so that we can still rest/spend time with family on Sunday. So i propose 15 or 22 Oct. (29 Oct Wifey birthday... so no way for me unless she tags along).

mine is connected to battery straight as recommended by mechanic when fixing it - cos it measures the true voltage of the battery. after my bike starts and when riding, it will stay at 14.0 - 14.2V throughout...hopefully this means my rectifier is in good condition. rite? anyone?

Hey guys.. The bulb used for our bikes is H7 right? Both side use the same type of bulb? Possible to on both at the same time for low and high beam?

My exact same question previously. Hahahaha!!! Seems both of us don't like c0ck-eye. But was told although it can be done... It short circuits easily & blow the bulbs.
