base on experience, which bike do you think is more economical (FC, maintenance) and stable?

S4 is v common, there's at least 1 everywhere i go, but i hardly see any GSR400 around.

Given the multitude of S4's out there the maintenance of the bike is going to be much cheaper than the GSR. Can't comment on FC. GSR, to me, is a better looking bike though. If you want a ultra practical decision, go for the S4 - lots of 2nd hand ones available. GSR to standout from the crowd.

having ridden both.. the maintainence is the same. only you'll have to fork out abit more for the tyres as the rear tyres are bigger and its fuel injected. other than that, it's still a japanese inline 4..

i rode the spec 3 for awhile then jumped on the GSR bandwagon. its been 3 years i made that jump and i haven't looked back since. the handling is much better on the GSR due to the mono-shock config. the pick-up is generally better as its double overhead cam even at lower RPM. also, i won't have to fit brackets to prevent my rear shocks from being stolen :)

the only disadvantage that i suffer is the accessories aren't cheap compared to the CB400. like racing footrest, exhaust systems, etc etc.

rien d'autre que le max.

i would say both are more or less the same (based on factory specs), the main differences are the rear tire profile (GSR400 : 180, S4 : 160), the rear shocks (GSR400 : monoshock, S4 : dual shocks) and also the exhaust system (GSR400 : 4-1-2 header, S4 : 4-2-1 header). Other than that, both makes a excellent street bikes :)

I am a s4 rider and after trying my friend's GSR, i can say it's the superior bike. Digital meter, sleek looks, monoshocks and huge tyres. But s4 is the more practical ride in SG lah.. spare and aftermarket parts everywhere, all SG bikeshops can service s4 with confidence and s4 has very high resale value.

If I were to buy a new 2a bike, I would get a GSR instead a S4 Revo.. but if I am upgrading to cl2 in a year or two, I would probably go and try find a good condition s4 spec 1 instead.. both performs about the same anyways..

Service in JB? ya, change EO and plugs can. tune carb? spares? tyres? this is s4/gsr4, not rxz ok...

Hahah good one. I dunno if JB are good with FI bikes. I'd rather do it in Singapore where they have the necessary tools. Not to mention safer here than there (safety).

Anyway, another option is to DIY. Not that difficult to do anyway. Saves money in the long run.

This is what I like:

GSR seat generally higher than cb400...

Feels tall when you ride in traffic...

This is what I dun like:

But when time to change tire or parts .... GSR prepare to spend more....$$

the diff btn a 180 and a 160 tire is huggggeeee.

Dunno y car tires bigger than bike tires but still can be way cheaper..... If one day car tires can put on bike it will be cost saving..... LOL

Things that can be improve:

GSR looks still can be improved with a a USD fork, in my opinon.
