There is no need to service it and not sure why you want to do that unless its working bad. Normally, when you change brake pads..that service is in the process all into the same cost.

 

If you still want..can always go to AH FOOK for the job anyway.

If you are riding a non Vtec...get teh Dunlope Arrow Max GT501..cheap and good and my advise is to go for size 140.

 

Btw..these days they are made from Indonesia..not Japan anymore..still same price though.

Could be bad installation during the last brake pad change. Anyway..we see how and what I can do.

hi to all super4 bro out there.. i'm here due to some minor problems i noticed with my bike.. and scared it will turn out for the worst and burn a hole in my pocket..

 

recently, i noticed, after a ride.. when i am about to park my bike.. there would be drop of blue coolant on the floor leaking from somewhere in my bike.. so i monitored the coolant reservoir.. and the decrease is not very significant.. but noticable...

 

so when i went to hua chin @ bukit batok.. they guy said that the "water-pump" is spoilt and need to be replaced.. price quoted: $185 for water pump, $8 for coolant & $15 for labour..

 

can you guys please advise if or not the price quoted is reasonable?? and also is the change necessary or can "tahan" one??

If you need my help to change the pump...its a lot cheaper (at least $40)..just pm me. but before doing so, its better to have a look at the leak first before any rash decision is made. Could be just a loose water hose circlip.

Teck Thye..look for David. Rebuild is better than getting those chiong one. Mine has been 9 years in use already and still good after rebuild. Tell him I send you.

anyway here are some of my qns

 

 

1) How big is the S4 tank? I read from above its 18L including reserve so its 15 main, 3 reserve..?

 

2) Is it normal that the s4's drive train is abit noisy?

 

3) my bike is quite old, its almost 110k km, and almost 10yo, so what are the precautions i need to take to ensure the bike is in good health?

 

4) my bike sometimes have a hard time changing gears, what could be the problem is it EO too old or too thin.

 

5)whats the best eo for s4, apart from ahpek's secret eo?

 

6)last but not least, is there and shop in jb that does repairs to s4.. i prefer skills and quality to lousy workmanship..

mine can heard but it alright cus when high speed cant heard anymore, check if ur chain is too slack

i dunno mine already clock how much but so far still going strong, hmm i think eo, coolant and ur electric stuff. super4 very durable

there's is no best eo for s4 i guess just personal prefer last time i use elf which is good, some other people use motul, maxima,liquimoly and etc is all personal prefer, but now i using ahpek oil is very good everything very smooth, to me if u use the best oil or for racing oil and nv fully ustilise it then it will be a waste of money, i would rather find an oil which i feel is smooth so overall i would recommend u use ah pek oil

6)last but not least, is there and shop in jb that does repairs to s4.. i prefer skills and quality to lousy workmanship..

i nv repair my bike in jb before all work done in singapore hmm, if singapore i would recommend republic motor, price reasonable and workmanship good, the mechanics there friendly plus knowledable

Just a noob question, how do I change the airfilter? Do I need to remove the fuel tank?

I know where it is. But its covered by what I think is the airbox. How to remove it? Im riding a Ver S.
