Thanks for the info, dudes! The weird thing was my 2nd battery (OEM Yuasa) died without any symptoms of dying. The cranking was good and the headlight brightness was bright enough only thing was I did not check on the voltage after a year of using it.

 

My first battery (the one which comes with the bike when I bought it) lasted for close to 2 years and there were signs of dying when the clock reset by itself when I started the engine and the cranking was not good. I did not even know that these were symptoms of a dying battery until it died on me when I was at JB (luckily nearby a row of motorcycle workshops ). So I took it as a lesson. I was looking out for these symptoms when I changed to the 2nd battery and I was surprised that it died without any of these symptoms. The battery lasted for about 1 year and 1 month.

 

The rectifier and stator coil are alright so I know it's just the battery. I do ride my bike almost everyday so am wondering if it is necessary to charge the battery after a year . I know this does not make sense as the battery recharges itself when the engine is running. What do you think, guys? Has this happened to any of you? Is this normal? Without the tell-tale sign of a dying battery I wouldn't know when to replace it until it dies on me while on the road.

although u mention abt the rectifier and stator coil is ok. u may wan to double check again. read up the manual and u will be surprise there are many steps in checking of the electrical stuff.

 

for me when i seldom ride i would give it a charge every 2wk to 1 mth once.

Batteries are very weird. I've experienced on my car about 10yrs ago. The battery died suddenly for no any apparent reason. Called the tow truck and brought the car to workshop. Checked everything and everything was in order. Crancked the engine and started immediately. My battery lasted for one more year since then. On my 2nd car went to supermarket. After came out the car could not start. Called the emergency sevice and replaced the battery.

 

That's the problem with the batteries. Sometimes they give you symptoms and sometime they don't. Not possible to tell for each battery how long will last. Better is to check your battery on each service.

talking about battery, i've the habit of changing it every year.. save me a lot of trouble then waiting for it to die off..

 

anyway.... anybody here have a used double bubble screen for 1st gen busa for sale? a friend of mine looking for 1, any brand will do.. pls pm me, thanks..

Anyone here installed a pillion's backrest welded onto the grab-bar? Am thinking of welding one onto it instead of getting the Corbin one. Are there any shop which specializes in this kinda stuff?

Ya ah beng alway neber think of themself tat they have oso go through "P" plate n sometime we think oso can laugh......But lucky him cuz u neber ride ur beast out haha n 4 me i oso ganna once at AYE haha n tat time is a super 4 but im riding my beast, he keep on push me fr behind while i squeeze traffic but he neber horn me.....
