Hi to all bikers brothers/sisters..

Wan to ask if anyone of you went to Zhu Hai before? if you goggle search, it's slightly above Macau and in the southern part of China.

Got a few questions if you guys went before..

1) How much bargain does you all do? 50%? 70%? I see that one of the forumer from another forum actually bargain from RMB $250 - RMB $30 (that's alot!!) More den 70%

2) I understand they speak chinese *pu tong hua (is there any difference with Chinese in Singapore?) Does speaking canto fetch a better price? If yes, I'll start to speak today onwards..

3) What kinds of bag/pouch does you all carry, I dun wan to be a victim over there.

4) Understand that they spilt and smoke and drink nearly "everywhere"? Does that includes aircon locations? (is their cigarettes nice?)

5) Is it safe to use "good" camera to take photos on stand on outdoors? (is there a possibility that people will snatch and run? How big is the possibilities?)

Survey:

How much did you all spend there? So that I can estimate my cash to bring over..

Kindly read thru at least the intro section first before decide to post any comments.... thanks...

Please proceed to this website/web link if you guys have any technical issues on Kawasaki Kips/KR150, I'll update the 1st POST as and when there's a new question. Newbies questions on the top as well. :)

1)didnt bargain much when i was there, cos i didnt shop much there in the 1st place.. lol. no point. things in guangzhou are cheaper.

2)there's always a variance between china's mandarin and our mandarin. but you will understand most of it.

3)bag as usual, try not to carry haversacks where you dunno what's going on behind you.

4)upscale shopping centres, unlikely you find them smoking inside. other than that, everywhere.

5)generally safe, but mine is just a lousy camera.

try out the hotsprings there..

1st, take the ones u actually wanted. (maybe a few, but dun show all. like 3 out of 5, or 2 out of 3)

2nd, ask for the prices...

3rd, tell them that their prices so high tat the other sides are selling @ 1/2 their price alrdy.. ( i took 3 bags + 1 wristlet) n bargain @ first.. den final price was 250rmb already... den i thick skin, take 2 more wristlets n tell them free for me n stuff into the plastic bags.. haahaa

some stalls are quite hard to nego on their prices, especially on luggages.

but still.. prices are nego..

bring a normal camera lo.. but i doubt u wld wanna take pics of the shopping areas

i took free shuttle buses provided by the hotels over to the border... which den u need to walk in urself... the buses dun cross the border.. but when coming back.. there's a bus terminal to pick u up with the free shuttle buses...

after u exit the border straightaway, there's this super duper big underground/basement shopping centre which u can walk for a few hrs liaoz. the start is the stalls all selling hps...

**a china-iphone** last i bargained till was ard 600rmb or lesser..\

p.s. the ladies will start her "frontal" attack when ur gf might be in a shop shopping..

my gf n her parents/relatives were juz walking in front of me n i was talking on the phone with my bro, den this lady came and intro herself to me n asked if i need her services, n passed her namecard to me...

my gf n her parents n relatives turned her heads... i juz kindly tell the girl "my mother-in-law is in front".... she zoomed off straightaway into the crowds, for fear of being beaten sia.. haahaa

haha i went to Zhu Hai before with a few classmates.

The bargains are real! When shopping at Gongbei (near the custom to Macau), they give you a price, and you cut it straight by 50% before gng down lesser. lol!

It ended up being a game for me and my friends.

you are generally able to smoke everywhere even in Aircon locations, however, in those more proper malls and stuff, you wont see ppl smoking inside.

In Singapore, you see 'Smoking' Sign thn only you can smoke there. In Zhu Hai, you must see 'No Smoking' Sign thn you cannot smoke. thats means u can smoke everywhere! hahaha

Their mandarin (pu tong hua) is similar to ours, but if you dont wanna get carrot over there, use ur cantonese.

They might not give you a gd price, but whn they hear u can speak canto, they wont quote you a ridiculous high price as compared to whn u speak mandarin.

There might be a small number of teochew vendors there as well, very little, but they are there.. haha

Ciggs there not bad, but i suggest you buy from more established malls. Best if you buy from Duty Free at the airport, but thts if u dont mind smoking the brands we have here in Singapore.

I went there and tried all those different brands, very interesting. hahah!

Hope u have fun there! Definitely a cheaper alternative to live in as compare to macau. You want to go macau thn can just walk over. haha so get a hotel nearer to gongbei
