I got to know this website when I was in Australia. The founder went to the church to preach. Although he talks quite fast, I was able to go home with the newfound knowledge of how Creation can answer a lot of doubts I once had when I was a non-believer and also to be able to counter evolution from a biblical perspective.

THE BARTHOLOMEW MASSACRE AT PARIS, ETC.

On the twenty second day of August, 1572, commenced this diabolical act

of sanguinary brutality. It was intended to destroy at one stroke the root

of the Protestant tree, which had only before partially suffered in its

branches. The king of France had artfully proposed a marriage, between his

sister and the prince of Navarrel, the captain and prince of the Protestants.

This imprudent marriage was publicly celebrated at Paris, August 18, by

the cardinal of Bourbon, upon a high stage erected for the purpose. They

dined in great pomp with the bishop, and supped with the king at Paris.

Four days after this, the prince (Coligny), as he was coming from the

Council, was shot in both arms; he then said to Maure, his deceased

motherâ€™s minister, â€œO my brother, I do now perceive that: I am indeed

beloved of my God, since for His most holy sake I am wounded.â€

Although the Vidam advised him to fly, yet he abode in Paris, and was

soon after slain by Bemjus, who afterward declared he never saw a man

meet death more valiantly than the admiral.

The soldiers were appointed at a certain signal to burst out instantly to the

slaughter in all parts of the city. When they had killed the admiral, they

threw him out at a window into the street, where his head was cut off, and

sent to the pope. The savage papists, still raging against him, cut off his

arms and private members, and, after dragging him three days through the

streets, hung him by the heels without the city. After him they slew many

great and honorable persons who were Protestants; as Count

Rochfoucault, Telinius, the admiralâ€™s son-in-law, Antonius, Clarimontus,

marquis of Ravely, Lewes Bussius, Bandineus, Pluvialius, Burneius, etc.,

and falling upon the common people, they continued the slaughter for

many appeared presently like a stream of blood. So furious was their

hellish rage, that they slew all papists whom they suspected to be not

very staunch to their diabolical religion. From Paris the destruction spread

to all quarters of the realm.

Russian boy suffocated to death in exorcism ritual. Deborah Gembara reports.

This framed photo and these toys are all that remain of 4-year-old Dima Lee who -- according to Russia State media -- was killed in a bizarre exorcism ritual gone terribly wrong.

Dimaâ€™s mother, who did not want to show her face on camera, says the woman who performed the ritual was a local healer, who had cured relatives of diabetes and other ailments.

SOUNDBITE: Dimaâ€™s mother saying (Russian with English translation)

â€œShe approached and asked what is your name, then she said that is not true, that is not your name, your name is Lucifer, the demon, come out of here.â€

Dimaâ€™s mother felt confident enough to leave her son with the woman at this house in the Sergeyvka village in eastern Russia.

When they returned hours later, Dima was dead...he had suffocated while healers allegedly held him face down on the ground.

Alexey Ilyushov is a paramedic who was called to the scene.

All that has been related hitherto were only infringements on their

established charter, the edict of Nantes. At length the diabolical revocation

of that edict passed on the eighteenth of October, 1685, and was registered

the twenty-second, contrary to all form of law. Instantly the dragoons

were quartered upon the Protestants throughout the realm, and filled all

France with the like news, that the king would no longer suffer any

Huguenots in his kingdom, and therefore they must resolve to change their

religion. Hereupon the intendants in every parish (which were popish

governors and spies set over the Protestants) assembled the reformed

inhabitants, and told them they must, without delay, turn Catholics, either

freely or by force. The Protestants replied, that they â€˜were ready to

sacrifice their lives and estates to the king, but their consciences being

Godâ€™s they could not so dispose of them.â€ Instantly the troops seized the

gates and avenues of the cities, and placing guards in all the passages,

entered with sword in hand, crying, â€œDie, or be Catholics!â€ In short, they

practiced every wickedness and horror they could devise to force them to

change their religion.

The law was glorious when it came to Moses, thunder, and smoke. But the gospel that brings grace, is more glorious. For the people remained far away from the mountain, but our savior is called â€œEmmanuel, God with us.â€ How much more glorious to see God living with us, abiding in us, the Spirit brings life.

The early church was always fighting legalism. Just as our human nature thinks, â€œyou must earn what you getâ€, so people often make rules and create new laws. Like do not smoke, anyone who smokes will not get to heaven. Reality is smoking has gotten a lot of people to heaven a little quicker. Or rules like do not drink alcohol, anyone who touches alcohol is a sinner and far from the kingdom. Or laws like fulfill your holy-days of obligation, dress this way, do your penance, do not dance, do not go to movies. All new law- that seem to be spiritual. But if anyone thinks he is closer to God by doing these things they are sadly mistaken.

Rite Believing Leads to Rite Living... but a wrong Living obviously reflects the Wrong Believes...

hav u not heard of grandmas who loved their grandson so much... so much love n grace.. but without discipline...wat wil bcome of the son when he grows up ? again, there shd b balance....

wow, last Sat veri detailed articles on churches in Sgpore.... now i understand better.... i belong to the church hopping tribe...

but hey.. i think i now wil settle back to mother church where my contribution is more needed... mega churches is for young people who needs life coaches to motivates their life....

all d glitzy showbiz is great for drawin and nurturing young people

such fads will pass along wif age....

for mi, i wil settle for authenticity and closeness of a smaller church...

What men deem as Balance, Apostle Paul sees it as Galatianism

between trusting a man erroneous man-made teaching and Apostle Paulâ€™s teaching â€¦ I choose the latter.

Do note that the Corinthian church was plagued with problems! Churches today face many of these same problems in one form or another. Paul wanted these believers to know that there is a God in heaven who is a great PROBLEM-SOLVER! God's people need to make sure that they follow god's directions and instructions given in His Word. The problems can be solved, but they must be solved GODâ€™S WAY!

There is discipline in a Grace-based church and been thru parenting seminars which is conducted ... which is not law-man hor

Paul wanted these believers to know that there is a God in heaven who is a great PROBLEM-SOLVER! God's people need to make sure that they follow god's directions and instructions given in His Word. The problems can be solved, but they must be solved GODâ€™S WAY!

So do not think that in a church that teaches Grace, we as adults we do not get corrected by the Lord for wrong doings.

Be it attending a church or not.... it is actually the consciousness that you are the Lord's beloved and how you perceive Jesus. Do not think that by attending a church you have already done the role of a believer....or are you playing church.

Grace in unearned, unmerited, undeserved favour from God.

When one expects it, its nullify grace.

Was having supper ytd with some of my ministry mate. During our chat, we came to the topic of serving in church.

The bottom line is, though there are many disappointment and cancellations on performances (something the congregation will never know), we kept on practicing so as to get ourselves 'ready' when called. All for one reason, we dance/act/perform for Jesus and Him only. Glory goes to Him and all praises goes to Him.

We also touched on the topic of 'leading by inspiring and influencing' rather then 'intimidating'.

finally we touched on 'submission'. Whether a performer is able to submit to the leader's authority and trust the leader's decision.

All these are actually a form of a 'way of life' a Believer lead. So when we are dealing with our spouse, children, friends etc. The knowledge, skills, wisdom we impart is a direct reflection of how we live our lives.

So if our children go wild and not living right, don't blame the church or her teachings. Love and Grace doesn't mean to leave the person entirely alone without bringing to the person's attention his errors. The key therein lies in how we put it across. God shows us how terrible our sins are by glorifying His Son, but it doesn't mean that its all sweet by and by from Him that He conveniently forget's and not record what was the cause of His Son's sacrifice.

Christianity is about the imbalance Love of God that surpasses all our trespass. Its about how good He is and how great His Son's sacrifice is. We walked in the Spirit because we are given the Holy Spirit.

It is the Holy Spirit that will teach us on how to deal with our daily affairs. When we discipline our children, we seek His guidance. When we deal with our family or friends or colleagues or the world, we engage Him. This is how we strike the balance.

Not by our own efforts or wisdom, but by His alone. And this is how this 'balance' comes about.
