only if magical fuel penguins are included in the deal....

Cheap + fast = no good

Cheap + good = not fast

Good + fast = not cheap

hey bros, any bike to recommend for tall ppl?

haven't got my license yet but doing some market research first:cheeky:

The downside of being tall is increased wind resistance vs rider and sadly there are not a lot of 'proper' bikes (I don't ride scooters sadly) offer a lot of weather protection or over-chassis aerodynamic aids.

However it really doesn't matter since we're not going to do 300kph sprints on the autobahn, eh?

But if you're anal about aero efficiency then a fairing bike with a hunkered down riding position = less wind resistance vs rider so that's my perspective for a tall guy. Remember that the bigger the bike (given class 2B limitation), the less power reserve you have.

So something tiny like a 125Z actually works best for me because it's comfortable riding that leaned forward, I have lots of excess horsepower (2 stroke) and the aero fairings actually do work for that bike.

I have also sat nicely on RXZs and YBRs and those are very comfortable too. RXZ for high rpm commuting fun, YBR for never needing to refuel. Both can be considered quarter-fairing bikes and the little spoiler/windshield thing on the front helps to reduce some drag on the rider, thereby satisfying my personal efficiency standards :D

Ps. I'm 6 ft 4, last time I checked, which was some years ago.

What do you think of sports bike such as yzf-r15 and cbr150r?

I fear that backache problems may occur over time.

I sapport this hahaha....

im around same size as TS but n0t that tall heehee, bought a 8 year old TA200, n0 mechanical failures up till now besides routine servicing of oils and plugs. close eye bought bike without even tested it, ride for like 5 months.

and i sapport the loose weight club tuu ^.^

There are guys who have rode CBR150R over very long distances non stop to KL and I think the guy survived because he's like, half my size. CBR150 is NOT kind to the stuff between my legs if you know what I mean :p

The riding posture I have to adopt is basically hunker down a bit like sportsbike because if I don't do so then I slouch and that causes back problems.

Back strain from my exp is caused by slouching + lower back being bent. If you can adjust your riding posture so that the load of your upper body is compressed onto the lower back (kept straight) then your riding comfort is limited only by how good the seat is. I don't care if my ass is sticking out, it's more aerodynamic LOL.

In this respect I can tahan riding with hard, thin seats (some cubs & CBR150) only about 2 hours but Phantom 6-8 hours nonstop is okay.

Just got to try and not slouch on the Phantom or else, yes, backache. Got big windscreen to try and hide behind so it looks alright if I put my ass towards the back.

Hmm I observed the same as you. How come some bumpy roads are smooth while some good roads vibrate a lot? Must be the stock suspension not liking some kinds of high speed bumps. I notice the stock rear suspension has very little travel with people the size of us on it and needs to be ridden at preload 4 or 5 otherwise keeps bouncing. Its the way the suspension is mounted that makes the weight capacity very low (140kg max). Aftermarket suspension that is longer and stiffer would do but not many dare to do.

Wind resistance - you need big windshield lor, make sure it's mounted so that its 45 - 60 degrees raked back so the air is diverted over your torso = less drag on rider. But downside is you will have some shaking from handlebar at high speed as the part is not wind-tunnel tested with the chassis. So you will "hold on to dear life with both hands" at very high speeds :3

Ya I think I mixed it up lol. I'm riding on super-hard suspension (cos I like Y125Z style handling). Some roads make it feel like riding on horse. Which I like. Just like that Osim horse riding exercise thing :p

Anyways vibrations are normal on this kind of engine which is tuned for high mid-range torque.

When the bike was stock there was no vibrations, almost like pussycat - open throttle meow loud loud only never actually accelerate. Once DIY tuned it shakes like a proper thumper (imagining itself to be bigger cc) and runs fantastic :3

If want to reduce vibrations tune mixture to be leaner but this makes your engine run hotter and your peak torque decreases. But use this setting only for night or light duty runs.

I recommended a friend (nabil) the Spec 2 which does not have power cut and cheaper. Was surprisingly economical at 380km main tank range.

As far as it being "old"... it went 190kph easily.

So u think spec 2 is the best? I like super 4 sound.. like very unique and smooth lols

Any super 4 will be a great upgrade from your big old dinosaur Phantom (although I like it v much lol)

Just be warned that once you upgrade to 2A, routine maintenence and repair costs are going to shoot up a lot. For instance, 3 litres of synthetic EO = $75.
