Your thread's interesting.

Anyways, out of curiousity, I've checked the price of some superbikes there and this is what I got:

Yamaha YZF-R6 2009 - RM85,000+ (around S$36,000)

Suzuki GSX-R 1000 - RM 96,000+ (around S$41,000)

Places visited:

- A bikeshop in Subang Jaya (near Sunway Pyramid Mall, KL)

- Another one in Malacca

Most of the tax included into the prices listed above.

As a comparison, a seven seater Hyundai Trajet MPV minivan costs MYR100,000 (S$43,000)

Imagine telling your Malaysian wife you want a Suzuki Gixxer instead.

Should we start a list here on all bikes sold in Malaysia? ;)

nah, dont bother buying superbikes in malaysia, too expensive, artificially inflated.

thats why many people there ride cubs instead, much more cheaper.

even a kr150 cost around 8k. brand new.

i got a friend who sells bikes in malaysia. kawasaki er-6f. the fairing one costs 35k ringgit.

February 2011 - March 2012 = Phantom TA 200

March 2012 - August 2013 = Suzuki Impulse 400

Present = BMW (Bus, MRT, Walk)

That's around almost the same as the Honda RVF 400 a few years back, wow.

I heard the latest 250r from kawasaki is going for 8k machine price here, so 9k with coe lor. Still slightly cheaper. Somemore not fair to see it thru currency conversion.. imagine ur a msian earning in ringgits, 19k is alot of money to spend on a 250cc bike. On the other hand, 19k can at least get a fazer over here..
