Go to http://www.onemotoring.com.sg and read about the renewal of COE...It's pretty straight forward....And there's no difference if it's Class 2, 2A or 2B...All fall under the Motorcycle category...Correct me if I'm wrong...

If renew base on 1997 coe?

Just check onemotoring website. Renewal of COE is based on the premium when the bike bidded for the COE.

 

For e.g.

1996 Dec COE is $2500, And 2006 Dec COE is $800.

When you want to renew the COE during 2006 Dec, the COE premium is based on the one in 1996, not 2006.

 

All along i thought is based on the current COE price, damn!

Are you sure?? I thought for renewal of COE, one has to pay the Prevailing Quota Premium (PQP) for that month? PQP is obtained using three months moving average of the new COE bidding every month...The recent PQP is about $900 plus....Not based on the year the COE was registered....If I'm wrong, pls direct me to the website that says otherwise k....Just wanna get the facts right....

err... how can that be?

 

what we pay for COE should be based on the current value as it is volatile and subject to change due to certain factors (IE num of COE available, demand, etc).

 

if we're paying the same amt as 10yrs ago, then we can check when was the lowest value and bid for it during that time!

Qn 24: What is the amount payable if I wish to renew my COE?

Prevailing Quota Premium (PQP) would apply for those who wish to extend the COE's of their vehicles. Vehicle owner does not need to bid for a COE as the PQP payable will be based on the moving average of the last 3 months Quota Premium results.

 

For example, the PQP in May 2001 is the average COE prices of March, April and May 2001. Thus, the PQP payable for each month will be different. To find out the PQP amount payable for 2005, please click here. To find out the PQP amount payable for 2006, please click here.

 

Please note that if the COE is revalidated before its due date, the balance unused period of the current COE would be forfeited and the owner will not be entitled for any rebate.

 

The PQP can be paid by cheque, cash or cashier's order if the COE has not expired. If the current COE has expired, only cash or cashier's order can be accepted, and subject to payment of the applicable late payment fee(s). In addition, the application to renew the COE must be received by LTA within 1 month after the expiration of the COE.

Renewing coe is base on an average of the past 3 mths coe prices.Supposing ur renewing ur coe on Jan,they will take into account the last 3 mths coe average eg.Oct - Dec.All ur remaining yrs/mths remaining coe will be forfeited.I renewed my x goldwing coe last time for $3 only although it still had 2 yrs remaining.

how to check COE expiry date, and how to renew

 

the writer of the article wrote for cars, not bikes. but its roughly the same.

my bff has one very vintage old bike, he is also going to renew soon.

luckily quite easy DIY, no need go through middleman
