No problem bro, it is your choice and I think Sharpey is just curious to know.

In my opinion, scooters (be it a classic, modern or maxi) are the best option for Singapore riding, good storage and legs are protected from rain / direct wind and you can rest assure that your shoes are kept clean and not damage by shifting gears, it is easy to manoeuvre and with engine mounted behind, you will not feel the engine heat at all.

Hi guys I'm currently looking for a couple of Vespas for a 2hrs photoshoot(time & date to be confirmed). There will be models posing with your Vespas, if interested do email me photos of your vespa, how much you wished to be paid as incentives OR even better if you are willing to exchange these 2hrs of shoot for professionally taken photos of your Vespa for your collection.

Please note that you will have to be there at the shoot to look after your Vespa. Rest assure seats & refreshments will be provided! Looking at preferably light colored bikes! All are welcomed!

Direct all enquiries to [email protected] as I seldom check my PM here. Thanks guys!

and the horn, I can never forget that and just remind me of Postman coming, it is not lound, not irritating and rather funny but I like it...

Mine is a P150X, should be a Nov 1978 baby, registered in 1979 and I am the 2nd owner, wanted to DIY but unfortunately not up to that standard and passed my problem to the mech with a price, it should be out end of next month and hope to meet up with you guys...

You are absolutely right bro ... its strange but we tend to appreciate things after they are gone and more often than not, once its its too late.

Like it or not, manual Vespas in the form we are familiar with may never return. That unique horn and exhaust note, the funny headlight that glows brighter with acceleration ... the smell of 2T ... with the passing of time, will become the exception rather than the norm. I count myself lucky to have a manual Vespa in good nick.

My advice to those considering a Vespa is :- get one and appreciate it before its too late!

Yeah u r rite.. My first bike 9 yrs ago was a px150, then I changed to wave and upgraded to super 4. Then I changed to vespa and is not used to riding it back. Getting the hang of it now, but now I'm struck with a prob. Rode my scoot, as it reached 80km per hr, it died. I parked at rd shoulder and started, it was able to run again but upon reaching 80 or more, it died.

Fyazz was kind to inform me via our SMS conversation that it could be due to Cdi or the fuel cap not properly closed. I have strong feeling it's the former. Any idea of any other symptoms I can look for to confirm the cdi problem?

And if it's really the dreaded cdi problem, how much can I expect to pay for it?

Sorry to bomb many questions, it's thru this forum that relive my passion for scootering and I guess it's the best medium to get assistance. On tat note, anyone knows of any tow trucks that can send the scoot to indra's workshop jus in case my scoot dies on me in the expressway.

Bro mountain_smith ... just a suggestion - check you have a spark plug with the correct heat rating. For NGK should be 7 or 8 for highway/high speed riding.

I had the same problem when someone fitted a much hotter plug. Was fine when I swapped it for a "7".

Cheers.
