Any one can help me fix the problem about my rear brake? My rear brake is faulty. no matter how i tried to repair it at diff bike shops. see the attached picts.

The circled part in red with the arrow pointing does not seems to work. when i step on the rear brake the rear brake light will light up but release the rear brake the rear brake light will not go off cos the part indicated by the red arrow, the 'head', will not be pushed back upwards by itself after being pulled down by the spring connected to the rear brake level. can that part, the 'head', be lubricated or must i change the whole mechanism?

you can try lubricating the 'head' with small amount of chain lube...

make sure that the spring and 'head' is moving in a straight line/ in good alignment when the rear foot pedal is operated, if not you may need to bend the spring or bracket holding the brake switch (head) to make them align...

This is a stop switch assembly for rear brake.

If the above suggestion could not solve ur problem. U might need to remove ur stop switch assembly, if u could not perform the following testing.

1. Check the mechanical function, there is spring inside the assembly.

Pull and release, it should spring back.

2. Check the switch continuity. U need a multimeter.

Insert the probe into the coupler as shown.

Pull the spring, u should hear the continuity signal from u multimeter.

If u d not remove the stop switch for ur bike, the rear brake light will light up with main switch ON.

If there is nothing wrong, try to bend the spring end. It might due to insufficient length to activate the switch.

take the whole thing out. and if possible, change your rear brakes to a better one.

my friends who are riding spark always complain that the rear brakes for spark arent efficient.

2009 - Honda NSR SP 150.

2010 - No bike. :(

2011 - No bike. :'(
