I am intending to sell my bike but have no idea how to do it. Any kind souls wanna help with some of my questions?

is it better to sell to a workshop or sell it myself?

what are the documents and paperwork required to sell my bike?

Sell at shop means less hassle, no need to wait for buyer etc. But less cash also. Eg: let go a FW wave to shop, $600. Let go at forum, can fetch $1000.

If sell to shop, most of the paperwork the shop will do with u. Sell online, must go to LTA just to do transfer of ownership. You might also want to bring along the roadtax and inspection paper to pass to the new owner.

If got anything I miss, some bro will add on. :cheeky:

I'll suggest u to sell it in the forums 1st.

Advertise in here, e-bay & all the FOC site.

Learn how to do the document & paperwork urself. Go onemotoring.com.sg, got all the information u want. Can call LTA, ask the customer officer.

Pain Pain one time only, save u some money n benefit in the further.:cool:

Actually hor, sell ownself is no hassle at all. Only at the beginning, where all type of funni ppl come to view ur bike. Some give super low offer, some come just to try2 ur bike den disappear, some promise to buy but fly aeroplane etc.. this is the hardest part of selling on ur own. After u secured a buyer, no hassle already.

I have to agree with cracked. Once you get a good buyer a private sale usually fetches more than a shop.

u may find more info at http://www.singaporebikes.com/forums/showthread.php?t=69188

:goodluck:

let the buyer:

- pay full cash to u or

- get him/her to take up a loan from hire purchase company and pay u the cash

transfer ownership of the bike to buyer fully upon payment received. the above is the cleanest way to sell off yr bike.

try to avoid dubious agreements to let buyer have the bike 1st then pay u later, etc or you continue to be owner of vehicle while adding the buyer as sub-rider. these kind of arrangements can become very messy when things foul up, e.g. buyer gets into accident etc.
